Local contestants, local venues, market specific integrations come together in these local auditions that are showcased during the first show NBL show of the season. These

Teletón USA Teleton USA Dec 2014

One of the most heart warming and ambitious initiatives in partnership between the Teleton foundation and Univision, extending to the U.S. the beautiful project that Televisa and Teleton

have brought to Mexico for the last 17 years.

Teleton is a non-profit organization that brings top quality healthcare and resources to disable kids of all ages, with a special focus on low resources families.

The vocation that has lead Teleton Mexico to become one of the health models to be

followed by all health institutions is now in the U.S. with the groundbreaking of the Teleton USA headquarter center in Texas, after a very successful fundraiser telemarathon on Univision with participation of some of the most talented celebrities of Latin America and the donations of

Hispanic viewers and corporations all over the U.S.

In its third edition, Teleton USA will make possible to share the dream of raising kids with disabilities to have a life closer to its full potential.

Univision stations around the U.S. join the Mexican Independence celebration with “El Grito” (The scream of “Viva Mexico”) on September 16th. On-air campaigns celebrate the history

and tradition of the most important moments of the war of independence while onsite events celebrate with music, food, and fireworks during “El Grito”

In addition to a national show with participation of international renowned stars, California and Arizona stations broadcast an extended regional special show on the Mexican Independence celebration with great performances from local and national artists,

presence of community leaders, and a celebration of the heroes of the Aztec nation’s Independence!

LOCAL INITIATIVES

Univision brings the soccer passion to viewers every week in the screen... and viewers also bring to Univision the excitement of local soccer in Copa Univision! A series of soccer

tournaments in 10 markets is extending to 12 where over 11,000 local players participate to win the prestigious Copa Univision and big prizes in popular categories. Copa Univision is more than a tournament, a weekend event to celebrate with all the family and reach

consumers that share the passion for soccer, traditions, and sports.

An opportunity to connect with Hispanic families right before the Christmas season! Halloween or “Día de las Brujas” and “Día de los Muertos” is one of the most cross-overed Mexican and American traditions that blend into celebrations like no others: trick or treat meets a procession of skeletons (“Calacas”) and giveaway of delicious candy skulls and

pastries inspired by these themes. Univision stations offer a community service calendar reminding parents of the safest trick or treat events I town, and providing events in partnership with community organizations where

It is one of the most traditional celebrations of Christmas for Hispanics around the world! The 3 Wise Men arrival on the night of January 6th, is highly anticipated by children that place their figurines closer and closer to the nativity scene as this magic night approaches. Kids then must write a letter to the 3 Wise Men with their gift wish and leave water and hay for

their majesties’ camels. Well behaved kids will wake up on the morning of January 6th to the gifts left by the 3 Kings.

On air vignettes celebrate the history and tradition of this celebration, show the map of the

approaching 3 Wise Men and invite kids to write and drop their letters at their majesties’ mailboxes in town (a unique first traffic driving opportunity) Promotional spots invite Hispanic families to visit a local venue (2nd traffic driving opportunity) and meet the 3 Wise Men with a photo opportunity to be sent by email or printed at retail stores (a database builder and 3rd

It is a heart-warming campaign like no other! Univision partners with sponsors to extend an invitation to the community to recognize their unsung heroes, those families that have

struggled or battled to make other’s lives better. Viewers will nominate these heroes and a council from Univision and the sponsor will select the most inspiring cases that will be

showcased on our digital platforms for users to vote for their favorite ones.

Univision local talent will then drive to their homes and bring the magic of Christmas with a special gift set on behalf of the sponsors and honor their inspiring contribution to the

community through featuring and sharing their motivating stories.
