Preface
• Recently, in Indonesia, Colon cancer disease has grown rapidly and take number 5 place as killer cancer to Indonesia population
• To date treatment to colon cancer is by using chemotherapy and surgery need additional and other options to combat this disease
Preface
• Indonesia has various plants and some of them are potential for drug development
• In this research we used Annona muricata for extract againts three type of colon cancer cell line :
- HT29
- Colo 209
- DLD-1
Working with biological hazards :
Needs procedures to preventing LAI
Must remember : Even working with normalmammalian cell line doesn’t mean free from pathogenic agents.
DLD-1 can induce cancer if intregated to mammalian chromosome
Safety Practice
Primary containment
Secondary Containment
PPE
Safety Practice
Sharp Container
Disposable Consumables
SOP FOR WORKING AT BSL 2
Decontamination (Bleach)
• Used to destroy any remaining cells in dishes and tubes before they are tossed in the trash can. (potential biohazard)
• Add enough to change media to clear,
– wait 5 minutes,
– rinse solution down sink
– throw away the dish/flask/plate in the trash can.
Conclusion
Working with biological hazard needs more effort to minimize contamination to enviroment and to worker, sometime sides effect of the biohazards to the enviroment and peson doesn’t protuding early, needs couple of years, thats why we needs to implement biosafety aspect to prevent contamination
Acknowledgment
• We would like to thanks to PRVKP FKUI RSCM for educated us about the important of biosafety and biorisk when performing reseearch and to Laboratory Safety DRPM Grants
