Mission Statement
• Engage women in philanthropy
• Collectively fund charitable initiatives in Westchester County
• Provide transformational grants to Westchester not-for-profit (NFP) organizations that reach underserved populations
• Educate our members about the work of area NFPs and encourage members’ involvement with them

Who We Are
• Impact100 Westchester is a 501 (c)(3) women‘s collectivegiving group.
• We are philanthropic women from all around the County with a desire to make a difference and improve the lives of others in Westchester
• Our organization is 100% volunteer driven
• 2018 is our fifth grant cycle which will put us over the $1 million mark in grants awarded to date

Who We Are• Currently, there are over 50 other Impact organizations
throughout the U.S. and around the world
• We are a member of the Women's Collective Giving Grantmakers Network
• To date we have given away 19 grants totaling almost $840,000
• 2017 – 3 Project Grants of $85,000 each and 3 Operating Grants of $12,000 each
• 2014-2016 Each year we have awarded 1-2 Project Grants in the $85,000-$100,000 range and 2-3 Operating Grants in the $9,000-$12,000 range

NFP Requirements
Eligibility criteria -- organization must :
• Be a tax exempt 501(c)(3) operating or proposing to operate programs for the benefit of Westchester residents and communities
• Have been in operation at least 36 months prior to applying for a grant
• Maintain 3 years of CPA reviewed financial statements (unless NY State requires statements be audited)
• Have revenues between $300,000- 25,000,000 (excluding Medicaid/Medicare reimbursements)
• Not have been a recipient of an Impact100 Westchester Project Grant in the past 36 months

Project Requirements
Eligibility criteria- Projects must:
• Serve residents of Westchester
• Expend funds in Westchester
• Be a new program, the expansion of an existing program or a capital project – it cannot subsidize your current operations
• Be transformational for the organization and those it serves
• Have a plan for sustainability and assessment
• Have a total project budget equal to or greater than the Project Grant amount
• Expend funds on the project within 24 months of the initial Grant installment
• Not have allocated overhead in excess of 15% of the Project Grant amount 9
Project Goals
Priority will be given to projects that achieve SMART Objectives:
S - Specific– simply written & clearly define your project plan
M - Measurable –tangible evidence of goals -qualitative/quantitative
A - Achievable- should be realistic and attainable
R - Results focused- serve unmet needs in a meaningful way
T - Transformational - for the organization & the people it serves
S - Sustainable- should have a definitive plan for sustainability

“Do not Fund” Guidelines
The following types of Projects and organizations are NOT eligible:
• Partisan, religion-based, indigent care subsidy, travel, fund drives and loans, annual or political appeals or advocacy work
• Debt reduction, operating funds, interim/bridge financing, endowment, research, rent subsidies
• Designed to serve people outside of Westchester County
• Benefits a for-profit organization, individuals or private foundations
• General capital campaign unrelated to a specific project
• Towns and Villages are not 501(c)(3)s and are ineligible for grant funds

Before You Apply
• Check the 2018 Grant Cycle Calendar to ensure that you do not miss any deadlines – Letter of Inquiry is due January 16th.
• Samples of the Letter Of Inquiry and Full Proposal are available on our website for your review – these are filled out in SlideRoom
• Project Budget Form is also available on our website and will need to be saved and uploaded as an attachment to LOI after the Grant Award amounts are announced in early January
• Review the list of questions and necessary documents to upload
• Application portal (Slideroom) will open November 20th. Start working on your LOI now

Required LOI Attachments
The following is the list of Financial Statements and Documents required to submit the LOI:
• 501(c)(3)
• Most recently filed Form 990
• Project Budget Form
• Fiscal Year 2018 Operating Budget and year-to-date Actuals vs. YTD Budget, if available
• Fiscal Year 2017 Financial Statements, if available, including CPA reviewed/audited accountant's report

Project Budget Form
• You will download this form from our website and upload to SlideRoom as part of the Letter of Inquiry (LOI)
• The total on the form must agree to our final Project Grant award amount (announced early January)
• Incremental expenses (expenses that would be incurred only if the project goes forward) should be detailed line-by-line
• Existing staff who will be working directly on implementing the project (NOT supervisor who also oversees other projects) may be reflected in the “Existing Staff” section
• Allocated expenses (rent, utilities, manager/exec staff) must be reflected as overhead and not exceed 15% of Project Budget 14

• To use SlideRoom each organization must register with a unique email and set up an account and password
• Enter/use your organization's name during account setup, not your own name
• Only one application can be submitted per individual email address. The registered email is where all automated emails and information about the LOI will be sent

Application Process
Stage 1: Letter of Inquiry (LOI)
• A link to SlideRoom will be available after November 20, 2017 at www.Impact100westchester.org under ‘Apply For a Grant“.
• Grant amounts will be announced by January 8th & full LOI plus attachments are due January 16th
• You will receive a confirmation email after you submit the LOI with required attachments
• Our Grant Review Committees will evaluate the LOIs; applications will be randomly assigned to committees regardless of type of project
• Finance committee will review all LOIs

Application Process
Stage 2: Invitation to Submit a Full Proposal (FP)
• Impact100 Westchester will review all LOIs and invite approximately 25 applicants to submit Full Proposals
• All applicants will be notified via email by February 6, 2018
• If invited, instructions for the Full Proposal will be emailed to you at that time
• Information entered for the LOI will be available to use for updating the Full Proposal
• All Full Proposals must be submitted by February 26, 2018

Application Process
Stage 3: Site Visit
• Grant Review and Finance Committees will assess all Full Proposals and notify applicants if they have been selected for a site visit
• Each of the Grant Review Committees will invite 2-3 NFPs for a site visit – generally around 12 in total
• Site visits for Grant Review committee members will take place during mid- April
• Site visits usually last 1½ - 2 hours. Guidelines will be provided at that time

Application Process
Stage 4: Selection of Finalists
• One finalist will be selected by each Grant Review Committee and will be notified the last week in April 2018 – 6 Finalists in total
• Each Finalist will have the opportunity to host another site visit for all Impact members in early May
• Each finalist will make a short presentation at the Annual Meeting. (Guidelines will be provided at that time). Impact members will then vote for the project grant recipient(s) and the other finalists will receive operating grants.
• The Annual Meeting will take place on May 15, 2018
• Members of Impact100 Westchester may not make the finalist presentation on behalf of an organization 19
Grant Awards
Payment of Grants
• Operating Grants will be paid out shortly after the Annual Meeting
• Payment of each Project Grant requires a signed Grant Agreement which will detail specific terms (e.g. project specifics, payment schedule and reporting requirements)

Tips
• Read the Eligibility Guidelines carefully to be sure your project qualifies
• Double check the accuracy of all numbers on the Project Budget Form
• Application should be complete - comprehensive - clear –concise - compelling
• All attachments should be included
• Confirm that the timing of the Project will fit within the 24 month parameters
• If you are a grant writer, you cannot submit multiple proposals under the same user id (email address)
