The Mississauga Food Bank is an organization FOR the community supported BY the community.

Feeding Mississauga starts when you donate money and food. Food donations can be dropped off at your local fire hall, grocery store or our warehouse.

We couldn’t feed our hungry neighbours without your generous support.

YOUR GENEROSITY FEEDS MISSISSAUGA

When your donation arrives at The Mississauga Food Bank, it is put to good use right away!

Volunteers inspect, sort and box donated food in our warehouse. Cash donations go to work purchasing and distributing food, and inviting other Mississauga residents to help feed their neighbours.

Your generosity supported our move to a larger, more efficient facility this year that will ensure we can continue to feed Mississauga’s hungry in the years to come.

Dear Neighbour, There are thousands of kids like Joelle in Mississauga. For families struggling to make ends meet, juggling the costs of shelter, food, transportation and childcare can often mean making the tough choice to go without food.

But thanks to your generosity, our neighbours can rely on the fresh, nutritious food that you provide month after month. You are ensuring that no one goes hungry. Thanks to each one of you who enabled 1.4 million pounds of healthy food to be distributed over the past year – we couldn’t do it without your support!

Chris Hatch, Executive Director

Your generosity feeds Mississauga when it reaches hungry children, families and seniors. We work to get your donations out into the community as quickly as possible.

Your gift of money or food impacts the lives of kids like Joelle.

When Joelle's parents separated, her mom was left to support Joelle and her little brother on her own. Without a dual income, the bills started piling up. Her

mom did the best she could to feed her two

children, but

sometimes Joelle would go to school hungry. Joelle's teacher noticed that her formerly bubbly student seemed quiet and withdrawn. Recognizing the signs of a hungry child, she gently urged Joelle and her family to go to their neighbourhood food bank for help. Now receiving 7-10 days’ of nutritious food each month, the family is able to make ends meet. Joelle is able to concentrate at school and her mom is filled with relief that she doesn't have to skip meals so that her children have enough to eat.
