Turn the Dial Gap Position Turn the feeder “ON”. Turn the “SPEED” dial as shown for a starting point of envelope feeding. Press the “LOAD” button for the envelopes to move forward. Position the feeder alignment tab against the plastic located on the right side of the By-Pass Tray. Turn the feeder “OFF”. Using iQueue workflow software set the “Media Weight” to “Envelope”. The media side guides can be adjusted side to side for media width by using the locking levers on the outer part of the guides. Place the remaining amount of envelopes in the side guides. Loading #10 Envelopes Turn the feeder “OFF”. Take one envelope, flap up - flap last and place between the media guides. Push the envelope under the separator pads. Tile a total of 2 envelopes and place them on the feeder. Place a handful of tiled envelopes on the feeder on top of the tiled envelopes. Hold the handful of envelopes in place and slide the media back stop against the the envelopes. Tighten the knob on the rear side of the back stop. Notice the position of the envelope and separator. If the envelopes do not move to the end sensor, press the load button again. Notice the envelopes angled with the media guide. Turn the feeder “OFF”. Adjust the media side guides. Take one envelope, flap up - flap last and place between the media guides. Push the envelope under the separator pads. Tile 2 envelopes and place them on the feeder. Place a handful of tiled envelopes on the feeder and slide the media back stop against the envelopes. Tighten the knob on the rear side of the back stop. The feeder separator pads can be adjusted to accommodate media thickness. When feeding envelopes or thin media, the separator pads need to be positioned near the bottom of the belt. fig A When feeding media that is thick or rigid, the separator pads needs to be near the top of the belt. fig B The height of the pads can be adjusted by loosening the center locking knob and raising pads for the thicker media. Move the feeder away from the printer. Open the printer side door. Remove both fuser brackets from the holders. Unlock both levers and slide the fuser back to remove from the printer. Turn the dial on the end of the fuser until there is a small gap between the 2 dials. Replace the fuser, press the levers down, return the brackets, close the printer door and put the feeder back into position. Set the separator pads at half and adjust the media side guides. Take one envelope, flap up - flap last and place between the media guides. Push the envelope under the separator pads. Tile 2 envelopes and place them on the feeder. Place a handful of tiled envelopes on the feeder and slide the media back stop against the envelopes. Tighten the knob on the rear side of the back stop. Notice the gap position. The envelopes will have curl before going into the feeder, this will not effect envelopes being printed. Depending on the envelopes type / style will determine the amount that can loaded in a stack. The separator pads height should be set so the envelopes do not overlap on the belts when feeding.
