Chengdu IFS the First Commercial Property Project in China Receives
Prestigious ICSC VIVA Best of the Best Global Award
June 3, 2016, Hong Kong – Chengdu International Finance Square (“Chengdu IFS”) is honoured to
have received the “2016 VIVA Best-of-the-Best Design and Development Award” from International
Council of Shopping Center (“ICSC”), representing China’s first-ever commercial property project
winning this top global title. Christina Hau, General Manager (Operations) of Wharf China Estates
Limited, received the award at the ceremony held at Las Vegas on May 22, 2016.

ICSC commented, “Chengdu IFS was honoured for its ‘City within a City’ mixed-use design, which

Limited, has a Family Zone featuring an ice skating rink, food court, and family and children’s stores;
High Zone featuring double height shopfronts containing nearly 300 top-tier luxury and lifestyle

and beverage anchors; and the Sky Garden – a green roof space with a unique sculpture garden,

Chengdu IFS complex is the first of the five IFS projects developed by The Wharf (Holdings)
Limited with an investment amounting to RMB 17 billion. The mixed use project has won a
number of awards and recognitions since opening in 2014 with some highlights below:

70,000 members in over 100 countries. ICSC global awards aims to recognise candidates with
extraordinary achievement in design, development, marketing, sustainability and social service in the
global retail real estate industry. For the 2016 VIVA Best-of-the-Best Design and Development
Award, Chengdu IFS faced intense competition with candidates from the U.S., Canada, Europe and
the Asian Pacific.
Winners receiving this top title over the past five years included Liverpool One in UK (2011),
Westfield London in UK (2012), Santa Monica Place in California, U.S. (2013), City Creek Center in
Salt Lake City of Utah, U.S. (2014) and Trinity Leeds in UK (2015).
