New Initiatives To Track Longitudinal Data (Can We Merge Current Data Systems and DE?)
Danya Lavendar & Chris Ryan, Discovery
Hungry for a way to track your student benchmark data from year to year? Have another student
data system in your district that you would like to merge with, or at least have talk to the
Discovery Education data system? Following our student progress between years is just as
informative and important as tracking that data within a single school year. This session will
explore the new opportunities to do just that within the Discovery Education system while also
touching on challenges and successes in getting our data systems to communicate with eachother. This session promises to engage ILAB members in critical thinking about goals for making
progress on the data system front in 2012-2013.
11:30
Engaging Special Populations in Assessment (Using DE to support RTI) Jason Altman, Discovery
Challenged in attaining student data that you can use from special populations? Work together,
with the support of the team at Discovery Education, to promote best practices in meaningfully
including all students, even those that are difficult to assess, in formative assessment. This
session will be in round-table format and will focus on developing practical solutions aimed at
promoting full inclusion for all in assessment. Be ready to bring back some actionable strategies
to your local educators through this peer-to-peer dialogue.12:15 Lunch

Inspiring Students Through Enrichment Activities (Ramping Up Use Of The Student Center) Jason Altman, Discovery
Do educators in your district struggle to manage the learning of the most advanced students in
the classroom while pressed to meet the needs of their lower-achieving peers? Learn how
Discovery Education Assessment and other tools can enable efficient and effective student
investigation beyond the grade-level standards. Our speaker will engage all participants in active
discussion on the difficult to meet needs of this population of our school classrooms. Prepare to
participate and to leave with actionable strategies to share with your colleagues.

Advanced Show and Tell (Goals For Next School Year) Josh Truman, Discovery
Many of us have plans to improve or streamline our data collection efforts, our data warehousing,
and/or the efforts to use data to inform instruction in our classrooms. We may have plans for
extensive professional development with classroom teachers in our districts, or plans to attend
conferences this summer or early next fall. We would love to hear about them, as we share
initiatives for next school year, and hopes for the future.

Goodbyes
Jason Altman, Discovery
Well discuss meeting follow-up and where we can take the ILAB in 2012-2013 before saying
goodbye for the summer.
