Hello, everybody. I'm Jos, as you know and, I'm student of IES Castelld'Empries, obviously, and I'm gonna talk about Ikebana.Em... First I want to... present my... my presentation... First I'll explain a littleintroduction about its origins and... what's Ikebana. Then I'll explain a little bitthe meaning of Ikebana and some examples of different styles of doing it, and

why did I choose this topic, as conclusion.Em, well... I... Ikebana, um, bueno. What do you know whats Ikebana?Well, Ikebana is a flowery... flowery... Its the flowery, flowery, art... of Japan.Its... Its the armony of a simple, linear composition of flowers and naturalelements and the origin of the word is from the Japanese Ikeru, which meanslive and birth and from the Japanese name Hana, that means flower, andIkebana its like living flowers.Em... Japan... The origins of Ikebana are not clear, but when the Buddhismcame to Japan... It, It is though that comes as a practice of the Buddhism... TheBuddhism... In the Buddhism... the practicers use to be offer flowers to thespirits of the dead, and Ikebana evolved from this tradition. As the time passed,

em... em... the tradition evolved and new styles were created, and Ikebanaturns a custom among the Japanese society.Em... Ike... Um... Well... What do you think whats... whats the use of Ikebana?(Decorative, express) Yes, express... Well, its not only decoration. Its theexpression of feelings, its the aahh... Its a disciplined art that (what?) humanityand nature are brought together, and as a creative expression it have somerules to... to rule the composition. And, the feelings that the... (cof, cof) of theartist are... are transmited through the colours, the shapes, and the types offlowers and lines, that form the composition. In... In this practice its given... Thespiritual fact is really important, because em... its when you feel closeness to,to the nature, that gives you serenity to the body, the mind and the soul, and thesilent is a must, in the practice. Without silence, you cant practice this... Alsoits the time to appreciate the beauty of the nature, and which is overlooked, andwith the busy lives of the people and, and, its a way to feel patient and tolerantwith, with small details, but not only in nature, also in the... daily routine. There are a lot of styles of Ikebana, but Im going to explain four, the mostbasical ones.As you can see, there is a tu-tu-tutorial of the most easy Ikebana style whichis... Moribana, that means... piled-up flowers, and its, its a composition withsome elements putted in a small, small... recipient, and with Moribana there aretwo variants, the... upright style and the slanting style. The slanting style is...

Com es diu transmet? (Transmeted) transmeted amm... Is... More... Um...Serenity, and mmmm... It... The other is more energic. This is an example of Moribana slaight (?) style. And now you can see other style of Ikebana, that is Nageire, and his has to... Ithas two... Two variants like Moribana. Its, um, the differences between the twostyles are the recipient and... the elements of the composition because in...Moribana there are some... not-natural elements and in Nageire all is natural, even the recipient. As you can see here, there is a Nageire slanting style.Em... Well... For finishing Id like to explain why did I choose this topic. Well,um... Since I was a child, I liked to... to watch nature and I feel very good in

nature, and lately, in the forest of the Sant Miquel there are weirdos around(what?), and its very, very difficult to get there without being disturbed, so, its

like a little forest in house. Its not only a plant, or composition, it gives you a,a... a memory or... it inspires you in something. Thanks for listening, the end. And, um, em... Are there any questions? Ill behappy to answer them.(Someone in your family practice this?) No, I, I tried to practice myself but I... I

did a... a disaster.(Is it very expensive to buy the (things?)?) Well, it depends on the type of plantsdo you buy, its not...(Have you got an Ikebana in your house?) I have a very, very little one. Well, itslike... I think its like this but the roses are, are white, and its not like this, itsmore, more... weird. It dont gives you anything... Its a bit...
