India has been the leading country in the world in knowledge, wisdom, literature, music, art and culture from the very beginning.

Philosopher travellers from across the world visited India from time to time to gain knowledge of its religion, philosophy, literature, medicine, astronomy, astrology and mathematics from its sacred texts. Up to the 18th century India had been an ideal country in the world in educational, economic, social and spiritual fields. In the 18th century, our contribution to the world market was 37% and our income was 27% of the total income of the world. The literacy rate in the country was 97%. According to the famous German scholar Max Muller, English scholar G.W. Leitner and the then British Government, the number of primary and secondary Gurukuls was 7 lac 32 thousand. The centres of higher education were 14 thousand where at least 18 subjects ranging from Mathematics, Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Metallurgy, Philosophy, Surgery and Medical Science, Technology and Management were taught. The British rulers, having the hidden agenda to keep us enslaved for centuries, tried to ruin our rich and prestigious tradition of

wisdom by destroying our whole educational system.

Today, there are 450 universities, 13 lac primary and secondary schools and 15 thousand colleges in the country. Many institutes of science, management and technology exist in the country but we are not able to inculcate our tradition and culture amongst the students. We want to make our culture, sanskaras, history, yoga, meditation and good values a part of today’s education system. We want to Indianise it. By awakening the hidden great self and by developing the holistic personality of the student we want to groom him/her to become the most successful, greatest, fully awakened, able, industrious and ideal human being of the world.

Through the University of Patanjali and Acharyakulam we want to set an example by developing such a tradition of Vaidic Rishi Sanskriti and Gurukuliya parampara that after Deekshant, Graduates of our institute will not be roaming here and there in search of job at the mercy of others; rather they themselves will provide health, self dependence and employment by creating job opportunities for others.

We want to build up such a foundation of sanskaras in the children of Acharyakulam that, be it the University of Patanjali or any other institute in the world, wherever they go they will not be influenced by the sensual materialism of the West. Rather we want to prepare such fully awakened and conscious scholars who will be able to change the course of flow of the current times.

Children are the future of any nation and are at the centre of the dreams and aspirations of the parents. Parents wish to see their children achieve great heights. They aspire to give their children the best of education and the best of values. ‘Acharyakulam’ is the confluence of ancient Vaidic learning and the best of modern education. We wish to

groom up leaders with high moral values along with the best of modern education through Acharyakulam.

In the earlier times, the leaders of our Nation used to be nurtured in the Gurukulas, where pupils used to study the Veda-Vedangas along with the art of defence, economics & virtues and thereby gain the ability of critical thinking of what was right and what was wrong. Hence true, austere and self-disciplined people held the supreme place amongst individuals, family, society and the Nation. Unfortunately today’s leaders of our country are being groomed in Convent Schools and foreign institutions like Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard and Massachusetts. We have to prepare social, cultural, spiritual, economic, industrial, political, scientific & intellectual leadership through Acharyakulam and other erudite programmes. Unfortunately, in today’s experts, leaders & intelligentsia feelings and values of spirituality, Bhartiyata (Indianness)and self esteem are withering on the vine. who will have the amalgamation of modernization and Bharatiyata.

The advent of modern science and technology along with the blind craze for western philosophy of consumerism has made the man so busy that he doesn’t have time to think of the very purpose of life. As he cannot recognize the very purpose of life, he can also not recognize the purpose of education. The purpose of life has become as if to collect more and more wealth and resources to maximize comfort and worldly pleasure. That’s why the purpose of education too has become the preparation to be capable to accomplish that goal. But what is more worrying is that the materialistic view towards life has overpowered spirituality so much so that the basic human values like love, honesty, truthfulness, sympathy, etc. have started withering on the vine.

Be it the field of Yoga or Ayurveda, be it the field of Naturopathy or political reforms or indigenous economic development, their initiative in any field has proved beyond doubt that they never believe in ordinary thinking or ordinary way of working.

Quite expectedly the duo took the revolutionary step in the field of education - a combination of Sanskrit medium traditional gurukul system and English medium modern education – the foundation of a milestone in the field of education – ‘ACHARYAKULAM’ .

It is of two kinds - Vidya & Avidya.Avidya represents the materialistic or physical knowledge.

Vidya represents psychological & spiritual knowledge.

According to Swami Vivekananda, spirituality starts where science ends. Such spiritual, philosophical education is stated in Vedas which are the foremost scriptures of the world.

Maharishi Dayananda says “Vedas are the true treasures of all knowledge.

One of the important messages of Vedas is ßeuqHkZoÞ–“Be human”. This is, in fact, the most important and relevant message for the present generation where animalistic views are overtaking the humanistic views and behaviours. Hence the study of Vedas and practice of Vaidic way of life is utmost necessary to create positive vibrations in the environment thereby aiming at a better, strong and bright future for the coming generations

which in turn would keep the society peaceful and bring back the lost glory of this great country which has been preaching the world peace since aeons.

Param Pujya Swamiji believes that the possibility of reformation in a child decreases by one percent with every passing year of age. And generally from every aspect a child becomes enlightened by one percent every year. But with the help of intellectual efforts we can develop this enlightenment physically, intellectually and spiritually by one to ten percent.

Expected behaviour of the members of Acharyakulam family:

1. Knowledge Aspect- To enhance intellectual development of a child is our primary goal.

2. Behaviour Aspect - To ensure that a child remains 100% free from prominent behavioural vices. And being aware of the latent vices, he/she endeavours with full determination and honesty to get rid of the same so that we can take pride in saying, “We at Acharyakulam are following the path of our ancestors.” All Acharyas and scholars are expected to have the attitude and values as expected from ideal angels, children of Rishi-Rishikas, Veer-Veeranganas and the greatest children of Bharatmata. We should have a strong morale against unethical conduct. We should have the same hatred against the latent vices like desire, despair, insistence, impulse, reaction, etc. as we have against prominent vices like non-vegetarian diet, malpractices, depravity, violence, addiction, etc. We should not welcome any unethical conduct, though it is true that, our Sanskaras and Karmashaya instilled in our soul from previous lives and our attitude and nature of the present life will stand as the biggest challenges in front of us. However, with awakened conscience, firm determination and enthusiasm and with practice of yoga, devotion and such other methods we can overcome such difficulties and make our evil sanskaras ineffective.

As part of our innovative and sincere approach towards inclusive education, we consider it as our great and noble duty to delve deep into the problems of a child, discover root causes of the

problems and help the young children grow up as better and responsible citizens. Thus to enhance the teacher’s skills and know-how, Teacher Orientation Programmes are organised in the school hiring highly experienced resource persons dealing with Learning Disability, Dyslexia and Behavioural traits. Resource persons are also hired to conduct different interactive sessions for the teachers. In this way the teachers are trained to adopt innovative or newly developed teaching methods in order to make the teaching-learning process more attractive and comprehensible to the students.

4. Compensation for any kind of damage to the school property by a student will be charged to the student’s ‘Imprest Amount’. They can even be penalised in case of reckless damage.

5. The school will take all possible care for physical fitness of the students. However, the school does not accept any responsibility, legal or otherwise, for accidents or mishaps. The school will remain indemnified against any claim on this ground.

6. Discipline, decency and decorum should be maintained by each student. Any act or mischief, breach of rules, disobedience or disloyalty to the institute by the student or parents can be considered as an act of indiscipline. The school reserves the right to expel a student on the grounds of misconduct, indiscipline or disregard of school rules and regulations.

7. Any sort of discrepancy, false statement or misrepresentation of facts by parents at the time of admission, when discovered, would result in dismissal of the student from the school.

8. Students shall not keep mobile phone or any other electronic gadget or any cash in their possession in hostel. If found, the same will be confiscated and will not be given back either to the student or parents or any guardian. Disciplinary action will also be taken against the child. Parents are advised not to give any costly jewellery to their ward. School management will not be responsible for any loss thereof.

9. Parents/guardians should not offer cash or kind to any employee of the school. Any such incident coming to the management’s notice would result in disciplinary action being taken against the ward.

10. Any change in the address or telephone or mobile number of the parents must be immediately informed by the parents to the school authority in writing.

11. Parents are expected to attend all Parent -Teacher Meetings. (Both parents should come).

12. Any student caught cheating in any FA shall get zero in that test. However, in case of SA, the child shall get zero in the tests of all the subjects of that series.

13. From time to time important information will be sent via SMS or E-mail to the parents/guardians. Hence they are requested to check them regularly.

14. For Transfer Certificate, one week notice in writing should be given to the office.

15. Parents are requested not to enter any classroom or any hostel room without prior permission of the Principal.

16. Parents coming to meet their wards or to participate in any programme of the institute have to arrange their accommodation and food on their own. They may avail of the facility of free accommodation & food at Maharshi Balmiki Dharmasala or paid accommodation at any other guest houses of the Trust as per norms.

2. Total Annual Academic Contribution includes amount of Tuition, Lodging and Boarding, Library, Computer & Games.

3. Imprest : This amount will be used to deduct charges for haircuts, laundry, postage, telephone calls, extra personal items purchased, tours, day trips, excursion, tuck shop purchases, stationery, text books, damages, fines, individual medical charges, etc.

4. Outfitter : Students Uniform for the whole year will be provided by the outfitter and the cost of the same will be debited from this account. The excess/deficient amount will be adjusted with Imprest amount.

5. Caution Deposit is refundable without Interest on exit from the school after adjustment, if any.

6. Should a child be removed from school, Transfer Certificate will not be issued until his or her dues have been cleared.

7. If all dues are not cleared by the end of the session, the student’s result will be withheld and he/she will not be allowed to sit in the next class.

Admission at Acharyakulam is based on the availability of seats and the interest and aptitude of the child towards Special Vaidic and Sanskrit Education that would be imparted along with full fledged modern CBSE/NCERT pattern. The students who show Interest, Inclination and Ability to study Special Vaidic and Sanskrit Education would preferably be invited to apply for admission at Acharyakulam.

Admission Criteria:Admission Class : Admission is taken only in class V.Eligibility Criteria : Passed or studying in Class IV in the year

List of Documents to be brought at the time of admission:1. Transfer Certificate (TC), countersigned by the D.E.O. or the

concerned board official, to be submitted in Original.

2. Birth Certificate, in Original for verification purpose and one photocopy of it to be submitted.

3. Previous year's Report Card, in Original for verification purpose and one photocopy of it to be submitted

4. Medical fitness certificate (in the given format), certified by a qualified doctor having not less than bachelor's degree.

5. Recent passport size photograph (6 copies) of the candidate.
