Join T.I.M.E. - the proven leader in CAT training to fulfill you MBA dream
As opportunities grow and markets expand, the need for qualified and capable people in management cadres keeps growing. If you're looking at a rewarding corporate career, an MBA degree from a top B-School is the ticket.
· Faster growth and a rewarding career path
· High-paying jobs and an upper-hand in international jobs
· A new world of opportunities for students from streams with limited options and / or salaries
· ‘Start-up’ booster for aspiring entrepreneurs looking for credibility
Ÿ For Faster Growth: Executives often realize, after working for a
couple of years, that an MBA degree is a must-have for faster
growth. Chances of those with an MBA bypassing others are very
high.
Ÿ High-Paying Jobs: Those fresh out of college also get access to
high-paying jobs, an increased level of job security, and a jump-start
to their career path. Many get placed internationally as well.
Ÿ World of Opportunities: For students hailing from academic
backgrounds that don't guarantee good job prospects or salaries, an
MBA degree could make all the difference by opening up a world of
opportunities.
Ÿ 'Start-up' Booster: Aspiring entrepreneurs find that credibility,
financial backing, networking, and ideation come easier with an
MBA, which can also serve as a launch pad for their ideas, as well as
a fall-back option.
Management exams - What do they test?
The selection process generally consists of two stages:
1) Computer Based Examination of about 2-3 hours.
Multiple Choice and Fill-in-the-Blank Questions with negative
marking.
Areas tested: Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Logical
Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, General
Knowledge (GK is tested in exams like XAT, IIFT, TISSNET, CMAT, etc.
CAT does not test GK.)
2) Group Discussion (GD), Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal
Interview (PI).
Most B-Schools shortlist applicants after the written test. Selected
candidates will then face the Group Discussion/Written Ability Test
and Personal Interview rounds. Some B-Schools also use other
tools like Group Tasks, Case Studies, Extempore and Group
Interviews to assess knowledge, communication skills, managerial
skills and to check confidence levels and attitude of the applicants.
The MBA Advantage
Give your careera Head Start
B-Schools may use the scores of more than one entrance test to short-
list candidates. Some of the major entrance tests are:
Ÿ Common Admission Test (CAT): This is conducted by the IIMs.
Prominent B-Schools that accept the CAT score include the 20 IIMs,
FMS - Delhi, MDI - Gurgaon, SPJIMR - Mumbai, National Institute of
Industrial Engineering (NITIE) - Mumbai, Schools of Management
(SoMs) at IIT - Delhi, Bombay, Chennai, Kharagpur, Kanpur and
Roorkee, MICA, IMT - Ghaziabad, etc.
Ÿ Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT): Conducted by XLRI. The XAT score is
accepted by XLRI - Jamshedpur, Xavier University Bhubaneswar,
Goa Institute of Management (GIM), S.P. Jain, etc.
Ÿ Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP): Conducted and
accepted by the Symbiosis Group of Institutes including Symbiosis
Institute of Business Management (SIBM) Pune, Symbiosis Centre
of Management & Human Resources Development (SCMHRD),
Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB), Symbiosis
Institute of Business Management (SIBM) Bengaluru.
· NMAT by GMAC: Conducted by GMAC, the scores are accepted by
NMIMS Mumbai / Hyderabad / Bangalore / Navi Mumbai / Indore
campuses , XIMB, IBS, etc.
· Common Management Admission Test (CMAT): Conducted by All-
India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
· Management Aptitude Test (MAT): Conducted by All-India
Management Association (AIMA). A large number of B-Schools
across the country accept this test score.
· Some B-Schools conduct their own tests, viz. IIFT Entrance Test for
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade - New Delhi, Kolkata, Kakinada,
TISSNET for Tata Institute of Social Sciences, MICAT for MICA and
IBSAT for ICFAI Group of Business Schools, etc.

#Our CAT 100 percentilers With T.I.M.E., it's possible!
Ÿ Dare to dream big with T.I.M.E.
Ÿ With a legacy of over 27 years in shaping careers, find out how we at
T.I.M.E. can give you the extra edge to succeed in the big race and
help you fulfill your dreams!
Our results do the talking for us!
An institute is best judged by the quality of its output. At T.I.M.E., our
results consistently set us apart. Every year, we have an ever-growing
number of students who get selected into the IIMs. Our results are
validated by an independent third party auditing firm.
More than 70% of our students selected by the IIMs were our
classroom students, further underscoring the importance of classroom
preparation.
Facing the CAT:Q. What was the pattern of CAT 2019?
A. The total duration of CAT 2019 was three hours. There were three
sections of 60 minutes duration each:
Section - 1: Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC),
Section - 2: Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR),
Section - 3: Quantitative Ability (QA).
The number of questions in VARC, DILR and QA was 34, 32 and 34
respectively. Around three-fourths of the questions were MCQ type.
For the remaining questions, the test-takers had to type in the correct
answer in the box provided. Every MCQ question had four choices of
which only one was correct. All the questions carried equal marks
(+3). There was negative marking (-1) for incorrect answers for
MCQ type questions. Apart from that, an onscreen calculator was
also available to the students to perform basic calculations.
Q. Will CAT 2020 pattern remain the same as CAT 2019?
A. CAT is known to throw surprises in terms of level of difficulty and its
structure. The pattern of the exam may change from year to year.
However, the current pattern has been in use without any changes
since 2016. We will get better clarity on the pattern once the CAT
notification is released in July-Aug 2020.
Q. What are the eligibility criteria for CAT?
A. Following were the criteria released for CAT 2019:
· Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA
[45% in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWD categories]
· Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor's Degree/
equivalent qualification examination and those who completed
degree requirements and are awaiting results could also apply.
Q. What criteria should you seek to find a trusted and effective CAT
training institute?
A. We encourage you to dig deep into the claims of the organisations
that you are considering. Newspapers are full of tall, often
misleading claims and inflated admission numbers achieved. We
advise students to ask questions, find out the details and really know
an institution's reputation.
Q. You say that 2551 T.I.M.E. students have made it through CAT
2018, and they secured 13,436 final selections to 17 IIMs for
which the results are publicly available. What does this mean?
A. A large number of students get final selections into more than one
IIM. If you count the number of final selections secured by T.I.M.E.
students in the 17 IIMs in 2018, it adds up to 13,436. However, this
number was achieved by 2551 students! Do not get confused
between 'calls' and 'selec tions'. 'Calls' is a term used to indicate
short-lists for the GD/PI round. What really matters is the 'final
selection' into the IIMs.
Q. What kind of salary can I expect on graduating from a top
B-School?
A. Salaries on campus depends on the academic performance (during
MBA) and the candidate's profile. The average salary figures of top-
rung schools like IIM-A / IIM-B / IIM-C / IIM-L / XLRI / FMS / SP Jain,
etc. can be in the range of Rs. 22-27 lakhs per annum.
Ÿ Even at around 80%ile (40,000 to 50,000 rank) one could get into an
institute that would fetch a job offering of 9-10 lakhs per annum.
Ÿ The most important thing to remember is that an MBA from a decent
B-School would invariably spike your earning potential. All you need
to do is gain admission into the right B-School.
Q. What is the weightage given to the factors within a candidate's
control i.e., CAT, GD, WAT & PI ?
A. Most IIMs have at least 70% weightage assigned to the above
parameters. Academics are not always as critical. Similarly, not
possessing work experience should not be a cause of worry as a
good chunk of students at the top most B-Schools are freshers.
Why?How?Where?When?
Frequentlyaskedquestions
Ÿ An MBA from a top Salary:B-School could earn you Rs. 22-27 lakhs per annum
Ÿ Bachelor's degree or Eligibility:those appearing for final year of Bachelor's degree
Is it better to first get work experience and then prepare for CAT?
T.I.M.E.'s
classrooms provide you a great opportunity for success
Doing an MBA immediatelyafter your graduation will be
more valuable for your career growth
Ÿ If he has prepared earlier, he can definitely find time to brush up his
concepts but not otherwise.
Ÿ If we look at the weightage given to work experience in the IIMs, it's
not more than 10% for most of the IIMs. So, it's not as much of a
difference as it is hyped up to be.
Ÿ Even during the placements at a B-School, the added incentive for
every year of work-experience is not much in monetary terms.
Q. Is it necessary to choose MBA Specialization at the time of
application itself?
A. No, in most cases it is not required. Most management institutes
offer General Management courses. In this kind of course, a
student learns the basics of all functional areas, viz. Marketing,
Finance, Human Resources, Systems and Operations, during the
first year. In the second year, there is an option of choosing
subjects depending on one’s area of interest.
Q. What is the difference between MBA and PGPM/PGDM?
A. When an institute is an autonomous body (meaning it is not
affiliated to any university) and conducts management courses,
then such an Institute cannot offer an MBA degree*. Instead, it
awards a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) or a
Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA). Only
universities (foreign or Indian) can grant MBA degrees. MDI
Gurgaon, SPJIMR Mumbai, XLRI, etc. offer only a diploma.
Ÿ However, students are advised to bear in mind that the value of the
management course pursued by them does not depend on whether
it is a 'Degree' or a 'Diploma', r ather, it depends on the reputation and
standing of the i nstitute t hat is offering the Degree or Diploma.
*The cabinet has approved a bill which will empower the IIMs to award degrees instead of
diplomas. The bill is yet to get approval of Parliament.

Q. Is it really better to first get a few years of work experience and
then prepare for CAT?
A. The answer is NO.
Sample a scenario: Varun is an engineering student in the final year
of college who has been selected by a leading IT firm in the country. He
is really confused if he should attempt the CAT now or get two years of
experience first, and then attempt it. Now consider the following:
Ÿ Assuming the fee of the college he would get into two years later
does not go up, he is effectively choosing between making `9.45
lakhs in 2 years and then doing an MBA, or, doing an MBA first, and
then making ̀ 27.3 lakhs in two years. Clearly, he would have earned
`17.85 lakhs more if he went for an MBA first.
Ÿ The fee for the B-School has been assumed to remain the same.
However, it is likely to go up with every passing year.
Ÿ For getting a promotion, his work experience as an MBA would be
more relevant and valuable.
Ÿ If he wrote the CAT as a fresher and things did not go his way, he
could always attempt it a second time.
Ÿ With a job, it would be difficult for him to start his preparation for an
entrance test, as his job wouldn't leave him with much time.

IIM Final Selections: IIM-A, C, K, S, Rai, T, Ud,Bg
My overall experience with T.I.M.E. was amazing. Whether it is the teaching faculty or the administrative staff, the online tests or the preparation aids,
everything about T.I.M.E. was immensely satisfying. The AIMCAT series and the in-depth analysis of every

liked was the peer learning at The classes T.I.M.E.
helped me with basic concepts, study material helped me with the concepts taught and was challenging enough for me to devise new strategies. AIMCATs helped me evaluate myself, while constantly giving me the proper push to work towards the percentile I wished to achieve. Workshops were held periodically & the challenges that these workshops posed, made the learning ten times more effective.

I am extremely grateful to for providing me T.I.M.E.
with an exceptional learning experience for my CAT preparation. They were kind enough to clear my doubts
time and again and ensured that my concepts were crystal clear. The quality of the study material and the
AIMCATs was exemplary and this contributed to a major part of my success in the examination. The faculty members at go out of T.I.M.E.
their way to help and support the students. Post CAT preparation for Essay Writing, Group Discussions and Mock Interviews gave me the confidence to face the actual ones. I would like to thank and its T.I.M.E.
faculty members for the unforgettable experience.

The learning experience at was very good. T.I.M.E.
The teachers as well as my batchmates were all very helpful. The classroom training was good. While the
study material was adequate for CAT, the AIMCAT test series was most beneficial while taking the actual test & in
familiarizing the test takers with the test pattern and the difficulty level. The regular classes helped in solving questions in limited time and the test series helped me remain focussed & develop precise thinking the doubt clearance during classes and post-AIMCAT solutions videos also proved very helpful in under-standing tricky questions & a helped in building a strategy. I would recommend everyone to enrol for the AIMCAT test series offered by T.I.M.E.
