Tickets also will be available inside Gate 4 at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Friday and at the northwest corner cket booth along New York Street adjacent to Carroll Stadium on Saturday.

MEDIA CREDENTIALS: The 2017-18 IHSAA State Finals Media Creden al issued previously for the girls golf and boys tennis state fi nals is good for admission. For those outlets without creden als and planning to cover the event, please apply by e-mailing your request (with name of individual applying) to IHSAA Sports Informa on Director Jason Wille at [email protected]. E-mail requests MUST originate from a recognized business account; e-mails from personal accounts (ie: yahoo.com, gmail.com, etc.) will not be accepted.

NO CHILDREN, PLEASE: With the excep on of high school students represen ng their school’s newspaper, yearbook, radio or television sta on, and who have a team par cipa ng, no young people or children will be issued media creden als or be allowed in the working media area.

MEDIA WILL CALL: Approved requests will be available for pickup at the will-call windows at Gate 4 inside Hinkle Fieldhouse beginning at 5 pm on Friday and at the northwest corner stadium entrance beginning at 9:30 am ET on Saturday.

MEDIA PARKING: While no specifi c media parking is available, we recommend using the Hinkle Fieldhouse parking lot on Friday and the Barnhill Parking Garage on Saturday which is just across New York Street to the north of the stadium. Each vehicle will be charged $10 to park.

SEAT ASSIGNMENTS: Except where permanent lines have been installed for those that have ordered them, an open sea ng policy will be used in both press boxes.

WIRELESS INTERNET: Free wireless access will be available in the press box. Please see Communica ons Assistant Rob Kimes who will be on site to assist you.

OFFICIAL PROGRAMS/BOX SCORES: Offi cial programs will be available along with computer box scores following each championship match. Interviews may be conducted with players and coaches on the sidelines following the award ceremonies.

POST-GAME GUIDELINES: IHSAAtv.org personnel will have priority in conduc ng interviews with coaches and players on the fi eld immediately following each match. If me permits before the awards ceremony, addi onal interviews may be conducted. Otherwise, all interviews will be conducted off the fi eld following the awards ceremony and team photograph session. The post-game ceremonies order will be as follows:

HAMMOND’S ARMANDO GARCIA TO BE HONORED WITH OUTSTANDING OFFICIALS AWARD

Armando Garcia of Hammond, is the recipient of the 2017-18 IHSAA Outstanding Soccer Offi cial in the state of Indiana.

Armando has been a licensed soccer offi cial for the past 24 years with the Lake County Offi cials’ Associa on where he currently serves as the Soccer Chairperson. In addi on to his Associa on responsibili es, Armando has been instrumental in the recruitment, mentoring, and training of IHSAA soccer offi cials. He serves as one of the IHSAA’s most highly respected clinicians. His dedica on and loyalty to his sport, our student athletes, his fellow offi cials, and the IHSAA have been excep onal. Mr. Garcia was selected for this honor by a commi ee represen ng the 24 offi cials Associa ons in Indiana. We have more than 7,000 offi cials licensed by the IHSAA. These offi cials work relessly to provide safe, compe ve environments for over 160,000 student athletes. During his career, Armando has given of his me and talent in working 21 IHSAA Soccer

sec onal tournaments. He has been a part of 13 diff erent regional crews, four semi-state crews, and will be lending his exper se this weekend in leading an offi cia ng crew in his second state fi nals appearance.

Third-ranked Canterbury seeking record-breaking sixth state championship in boys soccer (currently ed with North Central of Indianapolis with fi ve).

With a victory, head coach Greg Mauch would win his record-breaking sixth state tle in boys soccer (currently ed with Jerry Li le of North Central of Indianapolis with fi ve).

Defending 2A state champion Evansville Memorial boys team is making its ninth state fi nals appearance, second-most in state history to Fort Wayne Canterbury (11).

Both Evansville Memorial boys and girls teams will be vying for state championships this weekend. This is the ninth me the same school has had both genders represented in the state fi nals and the fourth me both Tigers teams have done so (1994, 2006 and 2008). Both Memorial teams won their respec ve state tles in 2008, the only me that has been accomplished in tournament history. Five other schools have had both teams advance to the state fi nals – Carmel (1997), South Bend St. Joseph (2003), Lake Central (2005), Indianapolis Cathedral (2010) and Avon (2013). Carmel and South Bend St. Joseph had both teams play in their respec ve state championship matches but neither managed to pull off both tles.

Tiger boys soccer teams are 3-0 in state championship matches (2007, 2008, 2016 2A) including last year’s 2-1 decision over Chesterton.

Team is aiming for fourth state championship which would rank third-most in state history.

A victory would be Head coach Bill Vieth’s fourth state championship with the Tigers, third-most in state history. He is also a 1982 graduate of the school.

Memorial defeated four ranked teams during its tournament trail - #9 Heritage Hills 2-0 and #2 Evansville Mater Dei 3-1 during sec onal play, #11 Washington 6-3 in the regional semifi nal match and #4 Indianapolis Cardinal Ri er 3-0 for the semi-state crown.

Team has won 14 consecu ve sec onal tles, the fourth-longest ac ve streak in the state.

Team returned six starters from last season’s 9-8-1 team.

Concordia fi nished second this year in the Summit Athle c Conference with a 6-1 record.

Head coach Kevin Macke is in his 17th season at Concordia. He is a 1991 graduate of the school.

Won its 10th consecu ve sec onal crown with a 4-3 over me victory over #9 Mishawaka Marian.

Went on to defeat three more ranked teams to reach state championship match - #17 Highland 4-0 in the regional semifi nal, #14 West Lafaye e 5-0 in the regional fi nal and #8 Bellmont 4-0 in the semi-state championship match.

Team fi nished second in the Northern Indiana Conference this season with 9-1 record. The Indians join Penn as representa ves of the NIC in this year’s championship fi nals.

Defending state champion Penn girls soccer team will compete in third consecu ve state championship match and enters the fi nal match as the top-ranked team for second consecu ve year.

Kingsmen making fi h appearance in the state fi nals and fourth trip to the state championship match overall.

Team returned eight starters from last year’s championship team which fi nished 22-0-1.

Penn has 19 shutouts in its 23 matches and has allowed only 4 goals all season.

Penn’s 120 goals this season are just shy of last year’s team record of 123. The Kingsmen have also only allowed four goals all season.

Penn captured its state-leading 11th sec onal championship with a 7-0 victory over LaPorte.

Senior Kris na Lynch ranks fourth in the state with 105 points (44 goals, 17 assists). Her 44 goals are also fourth-most in the state and 17 assists rank ed for 16th. Junior teammate Brooke VanDyck’s 14 assists also rank among the state’s leaders. Senior goalkeeper Mackenzie Wood has allowed only four goals this season in 23 matches and her 0.225 Goals Against Average ranks third in the state this season.

Kingsmen have turned away ranked foes in their last two matches bea ng #11 Munster 3-1 in the regional fi nal and survived a penalty kick shootout (5-4) with #5 Noblesville at the semi-state last Saturday.

Guerin Catholic making second appearance in the state fi nals and fi rst since 2010. Team is seeking its fi rst state tle in girls soccer and school’s fi h overall.

Last Guerin team to advance to the state fi nals was in 2010 and team fell to Columbus North in penalty kicks (4-2) in the state semifi nals.

Golden Eagles returned seven starters from last season’s sec onal championship team that fi nished 9-8-1.

Finished second in the Circle City Conference race this year with a 3-1-0 record.

A Class 2A school by enrollment, Guerin Catholic is one of two schools in girls soccer to voluntarily play in a higher classifi ca on (Brebeuf Jesuit also plays in 3A).

Senior Claire Gavin has allowed only three goals in 18 matches and her 0.199 Goals Against Average ranks second in the state according to MaxPreps.com sta s cs. Freshman Quincy McMahon ranks 12th in the state with 19 assists.

Topped three ranked teams during tournament trail - beat #3 Carmel 1-0 (4-2 PK) for the sec onal championship, #12 East Central 3-0 for the regional tle and #13 Columbus North 4-1 for the semi-state crown.

Head Coach Jonathan McClure is in the second year of his second s nt leading the Golden Eagles and eighth overall as coach.
