edge and experience pan India. It works effortlessly to bring about professionalism and perfection to the aspiring homoeo-paths. On such a thought was born the Brainchild of IHMA - SCHOOL OF HO-MOEOPATHY. SOH is part and the core of training, moulding and inspiring young homoeopaths to feel proud and efficient through CECPs, MOST and various other programs.

All work and no play takes away the fun from learning. The congregate aptly titled SNEHASANGAMAM.

Kerala was experiencing a turbulent climate at that time, but to our surprise, the nature calmed down so that the program could be conducted smoothly.Mazhakoott saw a healthy relationship budding between the members of IHMA. The two day muster saw a rainbow of activities ranging from indoors to outdoors, pool to hill and from singing to dancing to a game of football. The spectrum of activities brought out the best in everyone. The musical night was led by a band with our members joining to sing along. It was a jubiliant night where even the senior members accompanied the juniors to burn the dance floor.

The members witnessed a heart touching session of senior members sharing their experi-ences in IHMA and how IHMA had become a part of their lives; the agonies, disappoint-ments, happiness and satisfaction they all experienced by being part of this organisation and how it helped them to become better people.

The following day saw the family of Mazhakoott going the nature’s way. A trekking into the wild charm of Athirappily, was led by a professional guide, Mr. Justin Thomas, a renowned soft skill trainer who also led a session on ‘Interpersonal Communication’. The program was successfully coordinated and managed by the junior members under the guid-ance of Dr. Shemeer and Dr. Sajeev.

IHMA Alappuzha-Flood Relief Camp Details

Alappuzha district was one of the worst flood hit areas in the state of Kerala. Kuttan-ad, which is unique due to its sub sea level agriculture, is a low lying area and is one of the worst hit regions in the district. The region was hit twice in a time span of one and half months. Due to its geographical peculiarities, water level was not receding like other places and there was severe wa-ter logging in many areas. Water level was more than 5 feet and this made the people to move out of the region.

IHMA, Alappuzha chapter was active in providing flood relief measures and medi-

cal aid. The team of doctors at times had to hire motor boats to reach the flood affected areas to provide medical aid. IHMA Alap-puzha joined with other hospitals, NGOs and other associations to provide medical aid. The camps were organised as per the needs of the region. The doctors and the team visited several camps to provide medi-cal aid. Prophylactic and Curative aspects were kept in the mind while organising the camps. Several classes were conducted in the camps regarding personal hygiene, the need for clean surroundings and the impor-tance of clean drinking water. Doctors also talked about diseases and health awareness in general.

Team: Indian Homoeopathic Medical As-sociation conducted camps with the help of doctors from the association. Trained staff along with Nurses accompanied them for patient care and dispensing of medicines. Few boats were arranged to visit areas which were not accessible by road. Volun-teers were chosen based on their knowledge of the geography.

Medicines and Sundries: The team car-ried Homoeopathic medicines which were purchased from local stores for the camp. Sundries were also procured on the same manner. Medicines were carried in a wide range of potencies and proper dispensing methods were implemented.

Expenses: The major expenses for the camps were divided among willing doctors, funds of the chapter and partly from dona-tions. Transportation was arranged by the association and for group medical camps; the amount was shared among participating associations. Overall Indian Homoeopathic Medical Association, Alappuzha chapter in-curred an expense of around Rs 5000/- (ap-proximate figure) per camp.
