INSTRUMENTS - Flute - Clarinet in Bb (Doubling with Bass Clarinet in Bb) - Violin - Viola - Cello - Percussion: - Vibraphone - 1 Medium Gong (or Tam-tam) - Bass drum - 3 Temple-blocks (or Wood-blocks) - Piano Score in C

Flatt. = Flaterzungue

Clarinet Instructions

NOTICE: Clarinets in real sound (Written in C), Bass Clarinet sounds one octave below.

= Soft mallet

= Medium mallet

= Hard mallet

= Brush mallet

Percussion Instructions

m.s. = Metal stick

arco = Playing with a cello or doublebass bow (To this music is asked two of them)

ord. = Ordinary playing, annulates "arco"

NOTICE: Temple-blocks always played with the wood side of the mallets above

arco = Playing with the bow (Annulates "pizz.")

s.p. = Sul ponticello

s.t. = Sul tasto

ord. = Ordinary position (Annulates "s.p." and "s.t.")

= Snap "Bartok" pizzcato (valuable just to one note)

= Strings

Strings Instructions

al tallone = Bowing on the frog

alla punta = Bowing on teh point

nor. pos. = Normal position (Annulates "al tallone" and "alla punta")

col legno battuto = Stroking with the wood of the bow

coll'arco = Normal bowing (with the horsehair. Annulates "col legno battuto")

vib. = With vibration

n.v. = Without vibration

con sord. = With mute

senza sord. = Without mute

= natural harmonic (real sound)

= Artificial harmonic on a forth (sounds the rounded note two octaves above)

= Al Tallone playing with a very high bow pressure, smashing the strings; ritmicaly propotioned .

Piano instructions

NOTICE: You need a ceramic mug and a blackboard eraser of about 15cm to 20 cm

= on the keyboard

r.h. = Right hand

l.h. = Left hand

= mug

= On the strings

= Regions of the piano strings

= Putting the blackboard eraser on the strings in order to damp them.

= Tapping the strings with the blackboard eraser and let vibrate.

= On the strings, passing a ceramic mug alongside the strings, around the indicated note, beginning the movement very slowly and finishing it very quickly.

= On the strings, in a short moviment, passing a ceramic mug alongside the strings around the indicated notes, following the sense of the arrow. Sign ritmicaly proportoned.

sostenuto or sost. = middle pedal

or = First pedal

l.v.

= Approximative pitch

= Very quick "tremolo", usually employed on fast rhythmics, in order to obtain a dynamic effect

= Changing from a technique to anothre gradually (according to rythmics indications)

= To bend toward down

= To bend toward up
