A youth Project serving Penrith and the surrounding Villages Great News 101 Young people Yes, 101 young people are now involved in different ways within the deanery. Since last year I have been praying about God’s vision for young people in the area and for us to be blessed with 101 young people is so encouraging. However we also need to put it into perspective as there are 3600 young people who live in the deanery aged 11-18—but it is an encouraging start. Progress with 5 to 5 At the beginning of 2013 we cast the youth vision for the deanery was to see five things occur in five clusters of churches supported and led by two people. Since then two of the clusters have come forward with leaders and a Champion. Since January the following events have start- ed. Confirmation Group Youth Cell Two Holiday Club Weekly Youth Club Residential Weekend away It’s great to see new groups of young people meeting together. To build these groups we will need to extend the vision into the other clusters. If you feel as a individual or parish that you would like to explore this more then please don’t hesitate to email me. At a seminar in Spring Harvest I was challenged in my thinking when a speaker talked about churches needing to allocate 50% of their resources to young peoples work. Testing this figure with Churches that do youth work to a very high level I have discovered that a number of them are close to this percentage. If you feel as an individual or parish that you would like to give financially then please don’t hesitate to email me. [email protected] Many thanks to the seven parishes that have given so generously in the last 12 months.

Young people love doing something different, something that’s fun and has lots of energy. Whatever the idea it just needs somebody willing to

Starting a Cell

Young people are great to work with. Sometimes it is starting with the small things that God then grows. We know that Small Groups work (Cells) but they need volunteers who are willing to start a cell. You will not be on your own. Ignite can provide all the support that you need including:

Prayer Support We are so grateful for the 60 Prayer partners who pray for the Youth Work in the Deanery. We also have 20 Prayer Partners who pray for 24 individual young people. If you would be willing to pray for the youth Work in the Deanery or for individuals please contact
