New Community Jewish High SchoolKarmiel Rokedet, Tarbouka, Debka Rafiach: Horas from the CarmielFestival of Dance, debkas from the eastern lands, all are part of Israel’sdance heritage today. In recognition of the crossing of the Red Sea,Tarbouka portrays a people moving from slavery to freedom. DebkaRafiach, created as a protest against the British, still inspires today.

Gan, Kol HaGalgal, Banu Choshek: Tradition calls us back to thebeginning of time. We find ourselves dancing in the Garden of Eden.We are tempted by evil, but as G-d gifted us with light it is our respon-sibility to ban the darkness. We fuse dance forms of the animal king-dom, authentic folk dance forms and the popular moves of dance styleson the streets of Israel today to acknowledge and honor our past andembrace our future.

New Community Jewish High SchoolKarmiel Rokedet, Tarbouka, Debka Rafiach: Horas from the CarmielFestival of Dance, debkas from the eastern lands, all are part of Israel’sdance heritage today. In recognition of the crossing of the Red Sea,Tarbouka portrays a people moving from slavery to freedom. DebkaRafiach, created as a protest against the British, still inspires today.

Gan, Kol HaGalgal, Banu Choshek: Tradition calls us back to thebeginning of time. We find ourselves dancing in the Garden of Eden.We are tempted by evil, but as G-d gifted us with light it is our respon-sibility to ban the darkness. We fuse dance forms of the animal king-dom, authentic folk dance forms and the popular moves of dance styleson the streets of Israel today to acknowledge and honor our past andembrace our future.
