Introduction: Egypt Marie Curie Support Office Team has produced several catalogues and guidelines that could help Egyptian researchers in preparing their proposals, form consortia and find European Host Organisations that fit with MSCA Scheme under Horizon 2020 Programme. This catalogue is focusing on offers provided by many European organisation that are interested in hosting researchers (including Egyptian researchers). It has been organised with reference to the main Pillars or Thematic Areas of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship, so please choose the most convenient Research Area that fit your major field of research and capabilities and find out the available Organizations which can support you. After selecting the offer that fits within your capabilities, You can contact directly the contact person at the host organisation and express your interest in applying. It is highly recommended at this stage to have your detailed CV ready and you might want to consider Europe CV format. Please consider also reading the Individual Fellowship Guideline for Applicants that will make it easier to deal with your Host Organizations in Europe. At any point, please don’t hesitate to contact our team for any support and inquiries. N.B.: The deadline for the Individual Fellowship Open Call is: 10/09/2015 For further details on the Call and additional eligibility criteria can be found at the Participants' Portal

Relevance of this Document: Horizon 2020 Programme is the biggest European Union Funding Programme. Its budget is around 80 Billion Euros for the period from 2014 to 2020 and it covers all Researches Thematic Areas. H2020 Programme has 3 main Pillars which are: Excellent Science, Industrial Leadership and Societal Challenges. Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions (MSCA) is one of the schemes under the Excellent Science Pillar of Horizon 2020 Programme. It mainly supports the Mobility and Exchange of Researchers and Staff. MSCA Budget is 6.16 Billion Euros during the period from 2014 to 2020. It is an Opportunity for Everyone as it has a bottom-up approach, so that there are no constraints for any specific research area. MSCA Scheme has 4 different Calls during the year: Innovative Training Networks (ITN), Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE), Individual Fellowship and Co-fund.

Possible beneficiaries of this document: Egyptian researchers who are interested in enhancing their research career development and prospects by working abroad (including PhD students, PostDoc researchers and experienced researchers).

Interested Institution: University of Valladolid-Research Group on Energy, Economy and

System Dynamics - Escuela de Ingenierías Industriales. Paseo del cauce, nº 59 Universidad de Valladolid, 47011 Valladolid - Spain

Research Description: The starting point of the research is the already developed Economy Environment Energy model based on system dynamics, that is called WoLiM. This research project is now focused on some extensions and improvements of the model. Two of the most important improvements are: 1. The disaggregation of regional variables. 2. The “Energy Returned on Energy Invested (EROEI or ERoEI)” is the ratio

of the amount of usable energy acquired from a particular energy resource to the amount of energy expended to obtain that energy resource.

Interested Institution: Institute of Technology Carlow - School of Science /

EnviroCORE, Carlow - Ireland

Research Description: The key research themes in EnviroCORE are: • Bioremediation and phytotechnologies for waste treatment; we focus on the usage of microbes to treat contaminated soils as plants and associated bacteria can be more efficient in the “clean-up” of polluted sites. • Biomass and biofuel production; we are aiming at the sustainable production of bioenergy crops with emphasis on the improved generation of bioethanol from plant biomass and the isolation of novel genes/enzymes. We currently possess a strain bank of numerous bacterial endophytes, but we are also continuously looking for new useful microbes from bioenergy crops.
