IELTS Registration Requirements in the Philippines

As a test taker for the IELTS or the International English Language Testing System, you have to know

the right requirements in registering for the examination. Having the appropriate requirements will

make it easier for the candidate to finish the registration. What are these requirements that one

should have when registering for the IELTS?

First, it is important for candidates to know that they can register for the IELTS in two authorized

agencies that deliver the IELTS – the British Council and IDP. Registering in either of these agencies

does not affect that content of the examination. The exam is still the same. The only difference is the

fee the candidate has to pay. Here’s how to register.

For the British Council:

1. Candidates must present a valid ID or a passport.

Valid IDs can be:

a. SSS ID

b. TIN ID

c. Passport

2. Soft copy of the candidate’s recent photo

3. If the candidate has taken the IELTS before, he or she must present the IELTS test report.

4. A valid MasterCard or VISA card for online payments (Php 8986)

5. A soft copy of the ID the candidate will be using upon enrolment.

Upon successful registration in British Council, the candidate will be given a user account where

he or she can use to login into the online system. Here, the candidate can check some test

information, access free comprehensive online IELTS preparation materials and even request

test reports.

For the IDP:

1. A valid National ID (like the ones mentioned above)

2. A photocopy of the said ID

3. 2 pieces of passport sized photos

4. Test fee (PhP 8900)
