Look at the key words again in the transcript:

Which speaker provides the exact answer?
Which synonyms did you hear for ‘reasonable’ and ‘large’?
So, which is the correct answer?
A They are expensively priced for a small exhibition B They are the same as for the impressionist exhibition C They are reasonable for a large exhibition
Exam tip – The words used in the options are unlikely to be the same words in the answer. You will most likely here a synonym of the word in the correct option.

Exam Tip – study the map carefully before you listen and make sure you know how many things you need to listen for.

It’s important when labelling a map that you have a good knowledge of words used to describe location of places and words for giving instructions.

C) Choosing from a list Exam Tip – Make sure you know how many items from the list you need to listen for. In the following exam question there are 5 countries that you need to select from a list of 8, so there are 3 countries you will not need. We call these ‘distractors’. However, you will probably hear ALL the countries mentioned in the recording!
