Reasons to Go 100% Renewable Energy

The threat of climate change, caused by risingglobal temperatures, is the most significantenvironmental challenge facing the world withmajor implications for social and economicstability, natural resources and the production ofenergy.

Nuclear Power:According to IPCC, nuclear hasn’t achieve much, Nuclear capacity isdeclining globally (Safety to finical viability) and it’s already facesmany barriers.

There are so many disadvantages for Nuclear Power technologies.

The costs of solar and wind have declined profoundly. Renewables are increasingly the cheapest source of new electricity.

In 2013, commercial solar power reached grid parity (i.e.the point at which it is comparable or cheaper to produceelectricity with solar than purchase it from the grid) inItaly, Germany and Spain and will do so soon in Mexicoand France.

Growth rates prove how fast renewables can be deployed and scaled up

Japan has installed 11 GW of solar energy. In terms of electricity, that equalsmore than two nuclear reactors (building a nuclear plant typically takes adecade or more). Furthermore, Japan has approved 72 GW of renewableenergy projects, most of which are solar. This compares to about 16 nuclearreactors, or about 20 coal fired power plant units.

Last year, China installed as much new wind power as the rest of the worldcombined.

Growth rates prove how fast renewables can be deployed and scaled up

In just three years, Germany has increased its share of renewable energy inpower from 17 percent to 24 percent.

India aims to boost its solar PV capacity more than six-fold in less than fiveyears, by adding 15 GW by early 2019.

USA ,the states of Iowa and South Dakota produced about 24 percent of theirelectricity with wind in 2012.Nine US states were producing more than 10 percent of their electricity withwind.

Help rural areas school to produce their own power from the sun

“If we could achieve lower energy costs, we would have more space to do other things with our budget, like investing in computers and ensuring Internet access for all our children,” thought Nevenka Maras, the school principle.
