If we were to outsource the unfiltered entirety of the data to be processed and searched by a vendor, the rough standard charge would be ~$200/GB, totaling $57,760 per case, or $3.9 million/year.

If we outsource only the culled data, our data processing charges are reduced to $3,360 per case, saving us an average of $3.7 million/year.

Problem: Offline data still must be collected and processed before it can be searched.

Solution: Windows Server file shares, a SQL database, and a custom web UI to catalog and organize the content. Newly collected data is copied to the file share with metadata and folder structure intact. The collection is checked in and attributed to the appropriate custodian in the web UI. Collected data is organized by custodian, by collection. Custom scripts are generated to facilitate the import of any .pst data. UI catalogs all known locations for each custodian’s data: Active mailbox(es), file share location.
