OverviewWhy CIO Summit 2018?
IDC's Middle East CIO Summit has served as a pioneering platform for ICT thought leadership in the region since 2008, and returns in 2018 to make sense of the region's rapidly evolving digital transformation landscape. So join us at JW Marriott Marquis as respected global analysts, market-leading vendors, and 200 of the
region's most influential ICT leaders gather to lay down a blueprint for thriving in the digital economy:
Transitioning from Business to Digital Business
Those businesses that fail to transform themselves into digitally integrated organizations will struggle to even compete in the new digital economy, let alone thrive.
Moving Beyond Customer Relationship Management to Customer Experiential Management
As customers increasingly value 'experience' over 'relationship', they are becoming extremely fickle. And without undergoing digital transformation, organizations will
struggle to enable the hyper-personalized customer experiences required to maintain their loyalties.
Driving Digital Business at Scale
Digital leaders all have one thing in common – they are able to scale their businesses at low incremental cost. That's because the ultimate differentiator between digital thrivers
and digital survivors is the former's willingness to place innovative platforms and processes at the heart of their organizations, enabling them to scale at will.
Enabling Disruptive Automation
Robotics and cognitive technologies are enabling automation at unprecedented levels, both in the back-office and at the customer interface. While this will undoubtedly
accelerate the digital transformation process and usher in a new era of opportunities, it will also pose substantial challenges around skills, security, and governance.
Leveraging Data as an Asset
As data continues to proliferate, it is becoming harder to store, manage, and secure. And while there is an abundance of data available, it can be difficult to extract any actionable insights. However, the emergence of cognitive systems and big data technologies is set
to drive a paradigm shift by opening up new opportunities for monetization.
Embracing a New Role for the IT Function
In the digital economy, it is necessary to create a new identity for the IT function, reshaping its relationships with LoB’s and strengthening its relevance and contribution to
the business.
Focus Groups
Shaped by the very latestdevelopments in today's ITenvironment, our two-dayagenda includes intimateroundtable discussions ontopics such as cloud, IoT,smart cities, hyperconvergence, and artificialintelligence. And with 24sessions to choose from,we're giving you the flexibilityto tailor your Summitexperience to meet yourindividual needs.
Country Sessions
IDC understands that differentcountries present differentchallenges and opportunities, which is why the second dayof the Summit will see aseries of country-focusedsessions led by IDC expertsand respected CIOs as theyshare their uniqueexperiences, pain points, andreal-time solutions.
Awards Ceremony
In today's digital era, the ITdepartment represents thebackbone of any business. Assuch, IDC will be celebratingthe invaluable contributionmade by IT professionals tothe region's ongoing digitaltransformation andrecognizing their mostoutstanding achievementsacross various differentcategories.

individual CIO respondents with the partner. The information can only be shared in anonymized and aggregated form.
• IDC can not guarantee the participation of a specific end user organization suggested by the partner.
• IDC will not promote or endorse the partner’s specific product or solution at the workshop.
