ICE RESCUE TRAINER CUYAHOGA FALLS, OHIO WITH THE CUYAHOGA FALLS FIRE DEPARTMENT FEBRUARY 24-26, 2020 WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TOPICS SCHEDULE A practical and efficient training system uniquely designed for public safety personnel; graduates of this course return to their department with the tools and skills to train their own department personnel into competent and safe ice rescue responders. 3 Days / 24 training hours Ice Rescue Trainer addressing standards found in chapter 19 of NFPA 1006 and 1670. All students will be required to wear business attire, including coat and tie, during all classroom sessions. Appropriate US Coast Guard approved PFD with cutting tool and whistle, adequate clothing and protection from the environment, and pen and paper for note-taking and sketching. All candidates must bring rope handling gloves, ice rescue exposure suit, fins, and ankle weights. Departments with an Ice Rescue Trainer on staff realize significant cost and logistical benefits including training students for the nominal cost of Ice Rescue Student Kits ($20 per student), and the ability to train when convenient and environmental conditions are ideal. The Dive Rescue International Ice Rescue Trainer class includes Ice Rescue training and because of this, students require no prior experience to attend. $425.00 (US Funds) per candidate Includes preparatory materials, trainer manual, and presentation materials for instruction to students. Any public safety personnel who may respond to surface ice emergencies.
