I CALL IT A DAY

STORY OUTLINE:

Story by: Nitesh

This story deals with two different people and what they do. Many

people earn money for living and for their lavish pleasures. But some

people utilize every penny of their earned. They charity. This is allthe story is about.

Int-Interiors

An Old man's V.O.:

Old man (V.O.)

Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you

can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people

you can, as long as ever you can.

The voice is stressed and sharp.

FADE IN:

INT.A SMALL ROOM.MORNING (B.S):

The paint on the walls is lost and the bricks are visible, and it’s a

very small room which has a small cot and a drinking water pot beside

it.

The camera moves inside the room, and a full shot of the Prabhakar just got

up from his bed and was putting on his glasses which are on the table beside

the bed.

Prabhakar is of 65 yrs old, and was working as a pueon in a software company.

He looks much older than his age. Wrinkled face, bent neck and walks slowly.

He then moves around the bed and enters into another room, the camera is

still at a place.

INT.WASH ROOM (B.S & S.S):

At the wash basin, the look of the basin is very untidy, and a mirror is

placed on the wall which is not at all clear, smudges all over the mirror.

He picks up the brush and starts brushin; the cameo is on the right side of

Prabhakar and zooms in to Prabhakar face.

Then he washes his face and watches himself in mirror. Here he is facing to

the camera (camera as mirror) and is focus on the face (no feel on the face).

INT.ROOM (B.S):

Prabhakar just comes into the scene holding a cloth bag and is dressed in a

pueons uniform, by profession he is a pueon.Then he holds his bicycle which

is beside the bed, and slowly he makes a move. A half shot as he enters the

room and as he adjusts the bag hanging around his shoulder, then slowly the

camera moves along the side as he takes out his cycle and until he goes out

of the frame( camera moves in c shape, covers everything as Prabhakar takes

out his cycle).

EXT.OUTSIDE HIS HOME.EARLY MORNING (B.S & S.S):

A lady is brooming the entire place and splashing water on floor; she is in a

cotton sari and tucks her pallu at the belly. The camera at one of the

corner, and a full shot of the lady brooming the place.

Just then Prabhakar comes out with his cycle, and after taking it out he

makes a center stand of it and sits down near the cycle to check the chain

joints and also checks the air in the tyres.The camera at the front wheel of

cycle as he do the work, and comes back as he checks the air.



He gets on to bicycle, and make a move. The camera moves gradually along with

the cycle, following him.

Then a very long shot, from the front. Every minute detail is being covered.

INT.A LAVISH BEDROOM.MORNING (B.S & S.S):

The camera finds and follows into bedroom, and then it slowly zooms to Vishal

sleeping.

Vishal is a 24 yr young man, very active and charming. He wears everything

expensive and wants to live life in a lavish way.

Just then the alarm beside his bed rings very loud, but he ignores, it rings

much louder. Then he takes it in hand and switches it off. He wakes up very

lazily.

He opens his eyes and sits back on the bed.

INT.NEAR THE WASH BASIN.MORNING (B.S):

Vishal gets his brush, takes out the paste from the holder and squeezes it on

the brush. The squeeze in a close shot of brush.Then, he walks back tobalcony. The camera is at the back of him and inside the room.

INT.AT THE DINING TABLE.MORNING (B.S):

Approaches the table and gets the bread on the table, and gets hold of the

knife, Opens the fridge door and gets the butter from it. Spreads the butter

on the bread, now he pulls the chair back and sits on the chair and eats his

breakfast.

The table is neatly dressed and is decorated accordingly. It should get a

lavish look.

INT.HALL.MORNING (B.S):

He takes the keys on the tea poy.Then he hangs the bag to his shoulder(laptop

bag). The camera in angled to cover both, but no other room should be visible

in the scene.

EXT.PARKING LOT.MORNING (B.S & S.S):

Vishal opens the lift gate and makes his way to his car, and then he steps

inside his car. The camera is being placed at the side window (the window is

then closed by him).

EXT.AT A BUILDING.MORNING (B.S):

Prabhakar arrives to the office, and parks his cycle outside and walks into

the building slowly.

Just, then Vishal enters the building with his car, parks his car in a shade

and makes his way into the office building.

INT.OFFICE (B.S):

Inside the office, prabhakar is brooming the floor and vishal passes in front

of him.Then, Prabhakar stops for a while and greets him.But, Vishal doesn’t

responds to him and meets another guy.



INT.AT THE DESK (B.S):

Vishal is busy working on the computer just then a lady comes to him and they

start a chat. Vishal is laughing out very loud responding to her. They were

having a very good time. Both of them face the camera.

INT.INSIDE THE ROOM.OFFICE (B.S):

Prabhakar is sweeping the floor with water. He looks very tired and

exhausted, for a while he stops his work and clears the sweat on his

forehead. The camera focuses onto his face as he clears his sweat (close-up

shot).

INT.OUT SIDE MANAGER’S CHAMBER (B.S):

The focus is on the manager’s door. Just then prabhakar gets into the room,

and following him vishal too gets in, talking to some one on the phone

(blushing).

INT.MANAGER’S CHAMBER (B.S):

Prabhakar is doing adjusting and arranging the thing on the table.And managerwas seriously reading a file. He’s not at all caring prabhakar.

Then, Vishal enters the room, and greets the manager. Manager greets him with

a smile and makes him to sit. Manager takes out a packet and hands it to

vishal. He then makes him sign on some paper. Then a casual talk happens

between. The camera has to focus three of em as manager and vishal are

talking.

Vishal then greets him again and makes his way out the room.

INT.AT HIS DESK (B.S):

Vishal opens his packet and was counting the money. All 1000 notes, and he

got around 30,000.A medium shot of the vishal.

INT.MANAGER’S CHAMBER (B.S):

Prabhakar was interrupted by his officer and he hands over a packet and makes

him sign on the paper.

Then prabhakar greets his boss and makes his way out.

INT.NEAR THE OFFICE CANTEEN (B.S):

Prabhakar opens the package and counts the money. All 500 notes, only

6(2500).he counts them and keeps em in his pocket.

Vishal then comes into the frame. He takes out a 100 rupee note and drops it

into the ORPHANAGE DONATION BOX. Then the zoom on the vishal hand as he drops

into the box in slow.

Both share the screen in this scene.



EXT.AT THE PARKING LOT.OFFICE (B.S):

Vishal gets into his car, and is in very happy mood. he switch on his music

system and hums to the music.

Prabhakar too slowly walks to his cycle and takes out his cycle. Both are in

the same frame. His car and prabhakar on the cycle should be in the same

scene, and then they start parallel.

EXT.SHOPPING MALL.EVENING (B.S):

Vishal parks his car in front of the shopping mall. The car comes into the

scene and then the camera angle changes to vishal parking the car in front of

shopping mall(it should be clear that it’s a shopping place).

INT.AT THE ENTRANCE OF SHOPPING MALL (B.S & S.S):

The focus on the gate-man pushing in the door.Then, the gate man salaams

vishal.He enters the mall.

Next, He gets back from the mall out, with some shopping bags carrying. He

was struggling with the bags and was too heavy for him to carry, he swifts tohis car and drops them at the back of car.

EXT.OUTSIDE A BOOKSTORE: EVENING (B.S):

It was very hot sunny day. Prabhakar stops his cycle in front the stationary

shop.

He then gets into the shop and after sometime returns back with bundles of

note books and text books. They are in a scrambled order so he places all the

books on his cycle carrier and arranges the correctly. Then he ties them all

with a rope to the carrier.

EXT.INSIDE SWEETSHOP.EVENING (B.S):

The focus inside the sweetshop, prabhakar taking sweets (greets-No response),

the shop keeper was too busy working. He takes the sweets.

INT.A EXPENSIVE RESTAURANT.EVENING: (B.S & S.S):

Vishal gets down the car and with him her girlfriend and other friends also

get down. Then he hands out his car keys to the valet parking guy, then tat

valet guy salaams em. VIshal holds her gfs hand and gets into the restaurant.

EXT.ORPHANAGE.EVENING (B.S & S.S):

Prabhakar gets down his cycle and pushes in the gate (books in one hand and

some red hydrogen balloons in another hand, he is holding those balloons

high).

INT.RESTAURANT (B.S):

Vishal and his friends are having a good time, chatting, gossiping, and

having much more fun. They are having wine. Now the camera slowly zooms in to

vishal face, hes having a sip of wine and was enjoying enjoying

enjoying…..tats it.

EXT.ORPHANAGE.EVENING (B.S):



Prabhakar pushes the gate in with his legs. Slowly he walks into the area

As he walks in all the children (some 10-15) comes running to him and they

all give him a loving hug.

This is when prabhakar is happy. We can se a satisfying smile on his face,lyk

he has achieved something out of it.

Then the camera is at the back of prabhakar and it focuses on the balloons.

Camera is at back of prabhakar and the children still holding him, he lets

loose the ballons.Now the camera focus up gradually along with the balloons.

His real happiness lies in the smile of those children.
