Introduction and registration The ICA 2018 – eOrganizer manages the submission and review process of the ICA 2018. All authors who are interested to give a presentation at the ICA 2018 have to register for the ICA 2018 – eOrganizer to submit their proposal. A. Introduction and registration

The ICA 2018 – eOrganizer manages the submission and review process of the ICA 2018. All authors who are interested to give a presentation at the ICA 2018 have to register for

the ICA 2018 – eOrganizer to submit their proposal. Therefore, please use the following link to register for the ICA 2018 – eOrganizer:

Registration: In order to register you have to complete the registration form. After you have completed the registration form, a verification email will be sent to your email address. Please verify

your registration via this email, before logging in for the first time.

The following list gives an overview and some information on the registration fields:

C. How to make a submission?

In order to make a submission you have to complete the submission form. The

following list gives an overview and some information on the submission fields:

Paper / Presentation Title*

Abstract Body*

A one page abstract (200-300 words) exploring the main ideas of your con-tribution. Do not include abstract title and author names in the box. Moreo-ver, note that copying content from pdf files may cause format errors. If so,

please copy the content into a notepad-file (or a similar editor) before copy-ing it into the Abstract Body

Email Correspondence

To any email address entered here, correspondence emails will be sent as well (next to your main address)

Author(s)

Please add all co-authors of your contribution by clicking the button “Add Co-Author”. Note that the order of the authors entered will be reflected in the

publication of the abstract. You can change the order by using the arrow button. At least one author has to be marked as presenter (not necessarily

the author submitting the abstract).

Program Track*

Please indicate the program track for which your submission is of particular interest. Multiple selection is possible and welcome. Please make sure that your selection is in accordance with your choice of the first priority topic (see

next point). Note that the Scientific Committee reserves the right to change the selection in an appropriate way.

Topic Priority 1 – 3*

Please indicate your first three priority topics to which your submission can

be aligned to. The topics are related to seven special-interest sections (AFIR, ASTIN, LIFE, HEALTH, PENSIONS, IACA (Consulting), and Professionalism) and their proposed main topics for the ICA 2018. For further information on

the topics and examples for subtopics, please refer to the Call for Papers (link). Please enter three different alternatives and make sure that your se-

lection is in accordance with your choice of sections. Note that the Scientific Committee reserves the right to change the allocation appropriately.

Description of Application Scenarios*

Please give a short description (50 – 300 words) of the practical value of the submitted proposal by outlining possible applications.

Body of Literature*

Please give a short overview (max. 300 words) on related literature and other sources. Please organize references alphabetically and use a semicolon ";" as

separator. Moreover, we suggest for

- journal references: author, year, title, journal title, volume and pages - book references: author, year, title, editor and city.

Examples for other sources are: legislative texts, internet sources, presenta-tions, newspaper articles, etc.

Note that copying content from pdf files may cause format errors.

Please indicate if your submission is of particular interest for one or

more of the following groups Choices (multiple selection is possible): Actuaries in General, Actuaries from Africa, the Asia-Pacific Region, Eastern

Europe, Developing Countries, Germany, Latin America, the Near and Middle East Region, North America, Western Europe

ICA 2018 Best Paper Awards

Please indicate if you like to compete for a certain ICA 2018 Best Paper

Award. Note that in this case you have to provide a full paper (next field).

Please refer to the announcement of the ICA 2018 Best Paper Awards (link)

and the Call for Papers (link) for more information on the topics and the requirements.

Full Paper (required for ICA 2018 Best Paper Award submission)

Required, if competing for an ICA 2018 Best Paper Award. The submitted paper must be provided in pdf format and shall not exceed 40 pages. Maxi-

mum file size limit is 10Mb.

Please refer to the announcement of the ICA 2018 Best Paper Awards (link) and the Call for Papers (link) for more information on the topics and the requirements.

Online Sessions

Please indicate if you are interested in presenting your proposed content as an Online Session during the Virtual ICA 2018.

Note that your indication is not binding. If your submission is consid-

ered to be part of the Virtual ICA, ICA 2018 will contact you via email. Please refer to Call for Papers (link) for further information on the Virtual

Congress.

3. Preview and Submit:

By clicking the button “Preview and Submit” you will have the possibility to check your abstract submission:

The preview of the abstract should be of the following form:

Click “Submit” to submit your abstract and “Cancel – Make Changes” to return to the submission screen in order to make changes.

After submitting the paper successfully, you will receive a confirmation of your ab-stract submission via email.

D. Manage your submissions

Authors can manage their submissions by clicking “Submissions” “My Submissions” on

the left console:

Program Track: Displays your choice of section / program track for which your sub-

mission is of particular interest. (cf. submission field on p. 4)

Status: Displays the current status of your submission: Submitted Under Review Awaiting Revision Accepted

: View your submission

: Edit your submission

Authors are allowed to edit their submission as long as it is not under review

(no later than 31 July) and upon request of the organizers or reviewer.

: Contact the organizers via email with regard to the corresponding submission.

: Further options:

Mark the submission as withdrawn

Authors can withdrawal their submission as long as it is not under review (note that in this case your submission will be deleted permanently!).

E. What is the Action Item Alert?

If the organizers or the reviewer requests an action by you as the author, you will receive

an email notification. Moreover, the Action Item Alert in the right console of the ICA 2018 eOrganizer lights up red and shows the number of requested action items:

By clicking on the Action Item Alert button you are able to read the full requested action,

e.g. update your submission and re-submit:

Click “Action” e.g. to edit and re-submit your submission (Note: you can also use the link in the notification email).
