A “One-to-One” relationship between end points and Virtual Machines is established
End-users are assigned the hostname of a VM which belongs to them
Connections take place over an existing secured corporate network
Remote viewing of VMs is done through desktop RDP software or the built-in features of the thin client
VCS Architecture – Quick Implémentation

VCS Architecture – Dynamic allocation (Connection broker)
ConnectionBroker
Users connect through the connection broker present on the company network.
Once authentified, the connection broker provides a list of ressourcesfor the user.
A direct connection is established from the thin client to the correct virtual machine using RDP.

Go to the Green Desktop…• PC = 100/150 Watts • Thin client = 5/10 Watts• BCH = 5100 Watts • 12 Watts par VM• 5 Watts par VM for storage and management servers•Results:• 125 watts (PC) – 8 watts (thin client) – 17 watts (12 +5) = 100 watts = costs saving
In France 0,10€ by KWh ....• 100 x (0,10/1000) = 0,01 € / heure / user = costs saving• x 60 hours / week = 0,6 € / week / user = costs saving• x 44 semaines (merci les RTT) = 26 € / year /user = costs saving
Cost saving / year :• 100 users = 2600 €• 442 users (1 châssis) = 11492 €• 1000 users = 26000 €

“We implemented a disaster recovery system based on the Virtual Client Concept solution for our back office department after our joined development initiative with IBM. The demonstrated performance, flexibility, functionality are impressive as also is the real-time behaviour of the virtual client and the feasibility of flexible access in our banking environment. With this disaster recovery implementation we have the ability to share 12 blade server for the whole back office team of 100 employees.”Ing.
