Configuring SSL for Interstage BPM StudioTo connect to a workflow server from Interstage BPM Studio over an SSLconnection, you must complete additional configuration steps for IBM OpenPagesGRC Platform.

Procedure1. For each managed server instance, to configure SSL access, do the following

steps:a. Start the Interstage BPM service if it is not already running for the managed

server instance.b. In a web browser, start the Interstage BPM by typing the following URL:

http://<server_name>:<port>/fujitsu-ibpm-config-webapp/IBPMConfigServlet.The <server_name> in the URL is the host name of your OpenPages GRCPlatform application server. The <port> in the URL is the non-SSL HTTP port number of the managedworkflow server instance. For WebSphere, the non-SSL managed server portnumbers for the Workflow Server typically start at 20108.

c. Log on to the configuration tool as a user who has administrator privileges.d. Enter values for the following parameters:

ServerBaseURLThe value is https://<server_name>:<SSL_port>/ibpmconsole/

The <server_name> in the URL is the host name of your OpenPagesapplication server, and the <SSL_port> is the secure HTTP portnumber of the managed workflow server instance that you areconfiguring for SSL access. For WebSphere installations, the secure port numbers can vary foreach installation. To determine the correct port number, log on to the IntegratedSolutions WebSphere Console on the computer where the managedworkflow server instance is located, select the appropriate managedserver instance, and display the ports page. The WC_defaulthost_secure entry in the ports page contains thecorrect port number (for example, 20111). You can also find the portnumber in the appropriate IBPM .props file. For more information about locating port numbers, see the IBMOpenPages GRC Installation and Deployment Guide.

ServerEmailBaseURLThe value is https://<server_name>:<SSL_port>/ibpmconsole/System/.

Use the same parameter values as in the ServerBaseURL field.e. Click Save and Reload properties.

The new settings take effect immediately. You do not need to restart theOpenPages application server.

2. On the system where Interstage BPM Studio is installed, open theWorkflow_Studio_Home\bin\IBPMStudio.ini file in a text editor.

3. Add the following text in the line of code before -Dstudio.home=:-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=drive:

Workflow_Studio_Home\java\jre\lib\security\cacerts

This location points to the truststore that contains the valid root certificates.

Chapter 2. Installing Workflow Studio 5

Page 12: IBM OpenPages GRC - Workflow Studio Version 7.3.0 ...public.dhe.ibm.com/software/data/cognos/documentation/...Chapter 2. Installing W orkflow Studio The IBM OpenPages GRC Platform

4. Save the .ini file in a text format and exit the text editor.5. If you are acquiring the root certificate for the workflow server from an internal

(private) certificate authority (CA), the following steps are required on thecomputer where Interstage BPM Studio is installed. Generally, root certificatesfrom an external or publicly accessible CA are already included in the cacertsfile. On the system where Interstage BPM Studio is installed, complete the followingtasks:a. Obtain the root certificate from the CA.b. In the Windows command prompt, ensure that you add a path environment

variable to access the directory where the Java™ keytool program is located:set PATH=JAVA_HOME\bin;%PATH%

JAVA_HOME is the path for the Java runtime environment. The default pathfor JAVA_HOME is c:\OpenPages\WorkflowStudio\java\jre.

c. Issue the keytool command to import the root certificate into the cacertsfile:keytool -v -import -trustcacerts -keystore cacerts_path-file certfile_from_CA_path.cer -aliasdescr_name_for_root_cert

cacerts_path is the full or relative path to the cacerts file.certfile_from_CA_path is the full or relative path to the root certificate fileof the same name that is received from the CA (without an extension).descr_name_for_root_cert is an easily remembered, descriptive name forthe root certificate. The following example imports the root certificate caroot_cert.cer into thecacerts file.keytool -v -import -trustcacerts -keystore Workflow_Studio_Home\java\jre\lib\security\cacerts -file c:\certs\caroot_cert -alias my_private_cert

d. At the password prompt, type changeit and click Enter.e. When prompted whether to trust the certificate, type yes and click Enter.

Certificate chains are not imported properly. If there are multiple rootcertificates, you must run keytool to import each certificate individually.Import the root certificate first, followed by each individual certificate in thesequence in the trust hierarchy.

6. Start or restart Interstage BPM Studio to complete the SSL configurationprocess. When you log in to the OpenPages application in Interstage BPM Studio in anSSL environment, ensure that you select the Use SSL check box and enter theappropriate managed server SSL port number. For more information, see“Connecting to the OpenPages GRC Platform server” in the IBM OpenPagesGRC Workflow Author's Guide.
