IAPF Annual DC Conference – Speakers' Biographies Marie Collins Vice Chair IAPF Marie is currently Pensions Manager for ESB Group Pension Schemes and Vice Chair of the IAPF.

Jerry Moriarty Director of Policy IAPF Jerry Moriarty joined the Irish Association of Pension Funds in July 2007 as Director of Policy. Immediately prior to that Jerry had been Head of Compliance with the Pensions Board from October 2001. Between February 1994 and October 2001 Jerry worked as a senior manager in various pensions technical roles with Sun Life Financial of Canada in the UK. He commenced his career with Irish Life in Dublin in 1989.

Rachael Ingle Director Hewitt Associates / Chair IAPF DC Sub Committee Rachael currently acts as Chairperson of the IAPF Defined Contribution Sub Committee and also sits on the Benefits Committee of the IAPF.

Rachael is a Director of Hewitt Associates (formerly Bacon & Woodrow) and has been with the company since 1998. Initially she worked in the London office. Rachael subsequently established the actuarial practice in Belfast before returning to Dublin to lead the integration of the Delany Bacon & Woodrow and Hewitt businesses in Ireland. Prior to joining Hewitt, Rachael held actuarial and wider

HR consulting roles at Sedgwick Dineen in Dublin, Sedgwick Noble Lowndes in Bristol and Hay Management Consultants in London. As well as providing actuarial and general consultancy services to a wide range of corporate clients, Rachael is also a pension scheme Trustee. Rachael is a qualified actuary, a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland and a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in the UK.

Dr Leonie Bell Managing Consultant Oxera Leonie specialises in the economics of the financial services sector and corporate finance. Examples of her recent financial services work include an assessment of insurance guarantee schemes in EU Member States; analysis of the impact of investment restrictions for EU pension schemes; an evaluation of the risks and advantages of the shift to defined contribution pensions; a methodology for measuring the benefits of financial services regulation; analysis of the comparative cost of raising capital in the EU and US equity markets; and a study of the competitive position of the UK asset management industry. Leonie also works on a variety of finance issues in other industry

sectors, including capital structure, asset valuation, cost of capital, and profitability, and for example conducted a study for the European Commission on the impact of golden shares held by governments in EU privatised companies. She hasmanaged projects for the European Commission, FSA, European Fund and Asset Management Association, London Stock Exchange, City of London Corporation, and other clients.

Brid O'Donnell Benefits Specialist Google Ireland Brid has over six years experience in HR and Benefits and is the Benefits Specialist for Google Ireland, having joined Google in 2003 when the company initially set-up in Ireland. She manages benefits for over 1,300 employees in Ireland while also having an involvement in Google's pan European benefits initiatives.

Kieran Bristow CIO Investment Solutions Irish Life Investment Managers Kieran joined Irish Life in 1991, from Hibernian Investment Managers, as a member of the bond and treasury team in ILIM. In 1996 he was appointed head of this team. During 1997 Kieran was involved with the restructuring of the fund management area with particular responsibility for portfolio construction, transaction desk and bond/treasury. In January 1998 he was appointed as Head of Quantitative Research and CIO of Active Management in 2003.

At the end of 2007 Kieran was appointed as CIO Investment Solutions.

Eunice Dreelan Head of Defined Contribution Portfolio Management Irish Life Investment Managers Eunice Dreelan is a Senior Portfolio Manager in ILIM with responsibility for managing all client investment matters and with particular emphasis on Defined Contribution clients. Eunice has in excess of 20 years experience in client relationship management and is particularly focused on heading up ILIM’s thought leadership in terms of product development for the defined contribution market. Prior to joining ILIM Eunice worked with Goodbody Stockbrokers for 5 years and AON Consulting. In 1990 Eunice joined Irish Life International as Business Development Manager in the South African

office and then as Head of European Sales and Marketing. Eunice has studied at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and is currently completing an MBA at Heriot-Watt University.

Joseph O’Dea Head of Investment Consulting Watson Wyatt / IAPF Investment Committee Joseph is the head of Watson Wyatt’s investment consulting practice in Ireland. After graduating from Trinity College Dublin in 1990 with a degree in Mathematics he joined Watson Wyatt, spending two years in the principal UK office before joining the Dublin office. Joseph is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland. Joseph is also a member of the IAPF Investment Committee.

Tom McLoughlin Treasury & Pensions Manager IBM Pension Fund Tom McLoughlin is responsible for Pensions, Treasury and Insurance for IBM in Ireland. Qualified FCCA, Tom has worked mainly in Treasury. He has worked with IBM since 1996. Prior to that he worked in the Treasury Department of eircom, since 1990. IBM in Ireland has a combination of pension plans, with a DB plan closed since 1994, while the vast majority are members of the DC Plan.

Brian Duncan Chief Executive and Director Irish Pension Trust Brian took up his current position as Chief Executive and Director of Irish Pensions Trust (IPT) on 1 September 2006. IPT provides pension and employee share plan trustee services in the Irish market. Before taking up the position Brian was a World-Wide Partner with Mercer and Head of its Human Capital Business in Ireland. Prior to joining Mercer, Brian worked with Irish Life and VHI. He is a former Chairperson of the Irish Association of Pension Funds. He was a nominee of The Association on the pre-statutory Pensions Board and was Chairperson of the Board when it produced its Final Report, which led to the 1990

Pensions Act. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland and chairs Combat Poverty, the agency which advises the Government on all aspects of poverty and social exclusion.
