    i3BOOK software is an easy to use, yet professional multimedia interactive and display tool designed for interactive teaching,

    presentations, and educational applications. Integrating a set of multimedia courseware tools i3BOOK allows the user to write,

    wipe, annotate and record with the touch of a finger or pen. In addition, i3BOOK software can be used for making courseware

    to facilitate the use by teachers in classroom and meeting scenarios.

    i3BOOK integrates seamlessly with any software program allowing for resources to be imported, stored, or shared enhancingthe teaching process. This manual is applicable to all models of i3 technology running i3BOOK software. For specific information

    regarding the i3 technology hardware please refer to your hardware user manual.

    1. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

    Operating System: Windows XP or higher

    Pentium 4 processor or higher

    1 GB (more than 2 GB recommended)

    Media Player

    1 GB free disk space (full installation)

    A screen resolution of 1024768 (16 bit color or higher)

    2.1 Installation Procedure of I3BOOK software

    Run the installation program and click on [Next] button successively according to the prompt of interface to finish the installation

    of I3BOOK software. Figures 1-6 shows the I3BOOK software installation procedure.(Note: Installation of the i3BOOK software

    must be run with administrator rights. For Windows 7 operating systems right-click the program icon and select run as administrator)

    3.1 Uninstall I3BOOK software

    Operation instruction:You can uninstall the I3BOOK software by following methods:

    Method I: In the program installation directory choose uninst.exe, When prompted whether all components shall be removed,

    select YES (Figure 2). i3BOOK will be removed from your system. (Figure 4)

    Method 2: From the system control panel and choose add/remove programs, Select I3BOOK software from the list of installed

    programs and choose the uninstall option in the pop-up window, successively click on [Next] to finish the uninstall. (Figures 1-4)

    1. Software Registration Method

    Immediately following installation of i3BOOK you wil l be prompted to register your license of i3BOOK. If you choose, enter your

    product SN number following the procedure shown (Figures 14) to complete the software registration; Alternatively, select

    [Register] under the [i3 Book] option located in the main toolbar of the i3BOOK software.

    Please note: If i3BOOK is not

    registered, it can be used for

    trial purposes up to 10 times.

    Upon the completion of the trial,

    i3BOOK will no longer function.

    Note: The serial number

    purchased by user can only

    register one computer.

    2. Technical Characteristics of I3BOOK software

    I3BOOK interactive software can be used for teaching and meeting. It was specifically designed for use with interactive

    whiteboards, touch displays and tablet PCs.

    The pen and highlight tools allows you to freely annotate and highlight text or objects on any page; a highlighter can make font color look

    more beautiful; The magic pen recognizes the freehand shapes you draw. The handwriting tool transforms handwritten numbers and

    letters into editable type.

    Choose between a small, middle, large, ellipse, object or page eraser tools.

    Mathematical formulas can automatically generate a corresponding function curve graph.

    Chart tools can automatically a generate histogram, pie chart, broken line chart, area chart and bubble statistical chart.

    The line tool can be used to draw a corresponding line according to the thickness and color of the line selected by user.

    The text tool can be used to input the text that user wants to show.

    The fill tool can fill the border or surface of the selected objects.

    The table tool generates corresponding tables according to the number of longitudinal and cross cells selected by the user, and allows you

    to set the line width and color of the cells.

    The screen shade tool can be used to hide/reveal areas of the screen.

    The black screen tool allows you to instantly hide all objects on the screen showing a completely black image.

    The ruler and a set square tools are able to simulate their real world counterparts, with the ability to scale, rotate and change from metric

    to imperial numeration.

    The screen capture tool enables you to capture all or part of the screen and import it into a i3BOOK whiteboard page.

    A screen recording tool allows for simple capture of all actions of an instructor for later playback.

    The Exhibition Stand tool converts your webcam into a document camera allowing instructors to capture and show real world objects in

    their documents.

    Full-screen editing: The page content is displayed full screen.

    Encrypted document: Set password for the document created by user so as to protect such document from being used by others.

    The background custom tool is able to fill the page background with a single color, gradient ramp, grid, or image.

    A spotlight tool is provided to draw attention to a specific region of the screen. The spotlight can be freely dragged in all directions.

    A screen roaming tool is designed to move all materials on the screen simultaneously

    A zoom tool is provided to zoom in/out on the current page; Additional zone zooming can be used to zoom in/out of a specific area.

    Click on the icon to start I3BOOK. Alternatively, select i3BOOK from the Start > Programs menu.

    1. Main interface introduction of I3BOOK software

    1.1 Main toolbar

    The main toolbar of i3BOOK includes the primary object

    processing tools needed to annotate, create charts, tables,

    change color and so on. (As shown in the figure)

    1.3 Common Resource Library

    A resource library of common objects and symbols is

    provided with I3BOOK.

    1.4 Floating toolbar

    The floating toolbar is on the right of screen as default.

    This toolbar will float above all running programs and

    provide the same functions as the Main toolbar.

    1.5 Location of floating toolbar

    The floating toolbar is on the right of screen as

    default, and you may click on to switch it to

    be on the leftt of screen.

    The main toolbar is on the top of software as default, and

    you may click on to switch it to be at the bottom of

    software.

    IV. SOFTWARE FEATURES

    1.2 Page & Common toolbar

    Provides quick access to accessand switch between multiple

    pages as well as access the common resource library.

    2. Windows mode

    By pressing the toggle desktop icon in the floating toolbar, users can quickly switch to desktop mode. To return to

    i3BOOK, press the icon.

    3. Function Operations of I3BOOK software

    3.1File

    3.1.1 Create a new file

    Operation:

    Click on new button under [File] in main toolbar.

    If a current page is open, system will prompt the user to

    save the current file or not.

    If changes are confirmed, the system will prompt the user

    to save the file.

    3.1.2 Open a file

    To open a previously saved file for editing:

    1. Click on icon under [File] in main toolbar.

    2. This window will pop up, and you may select the file

    needed to be opened.

    3.1.3 Encrypt a file

    Set a password to the file created by user so as to protect

    the file from being used by another user. Opening of the

    file will only be allowed once the password is entered.

    Click on [File] ->[Encrypt a file] in main toolbar.

    3.1.4 Export current page

    Click on [File] ->[Export current page] in the main

    toolbar, and the active page can be exported to a folder

    as a JPG picture or PDF.

    3.1.5 Import

    Import: Save the contents of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and

    PDF files to the page list of I3BOOK software in the form

    of background or picture. Accepted file formats are .doc,

    .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx, and .pdf.

    Operation instruction: 1. Click on under [File], select a

    pdf file in the pop-up box, and imported type is background,

    as shown in the figure:

    2. After importing successfully, the page list is as shown in

    the figure below:

    3.1.6 Save

    Save: Save the currently open/editing file to local disk.

    3.1.7 Save as

    Save as: Save currently open file to template library in

    WKB file format, so that it can be directly called from

    template library next time.

    1. Save/Save as: Save currently open file to local disk;

    user may save the file in WKB format, and in thesaving of file, the system will automatically name it

    with current date, and it may be modified by user.

    2. Operation instruction: You may save the file by

    clicking on Save/[Save as] button in main

    interface.

    3.1.8 Print functionProvide functions of print, print current page, print

    preview and print setup.

    Operation instruction: Select [Print all] under [File] the

    toolbar to set up the printer, and then select [Print]

    or [Print current page] according to your needs to print.

    3.1.9 Print all

    Print all: Print all pages, print preview, and print setup.

    3.2 Undo

    Undo: Cancel previous operation.

    Select the Undo button in [Main toolbar] /

    [Floating toolbar].

    3.3 Redo

    Redo: Recover the information undone last time.

    Select the Redo button in [Main toolbar] /

    [Floating toolbar].

    3.4 New page

    New page: Add a blank page below the active page.

    Select in main toolbar to add a blank page as shown in

    the figure.

    3.5 Delete a page

    Delete a page: Delete the active page or a blank page

    selected from the page list.

    Operation: Select in [Main toolbar] to delete currently

    selected page.

    3.6 Previous page

    Click on [Previous page] to page up. As shown in Figure

    (1), page up from Page 3 to Page 2.

    3.7 Next page

    Click on [Next page] to page down. As shown in Figure

    (1), page down from Page 2 to Page 3.

    3.8 Right click

    Select operation functions of right button in I3BOOK

    software.

    Operation:

    1. Click the [Right click] icon in [Main toolbar].

    2. Click the [Right click] icon in [Floating main toolbar]

    3. User may click on the page for 3sec, and the right click

    menu will pop up. (As shown in the figure)

    3.8.1 Group

    Group multiple objects into one object, as shown in Figures

    1-2.

    3.8.2 Arrange

    Arrange object, as shown in Figure 3 - 4.

    3.8.3 Align

    Align multiple objects with one object, as shown in 5 6.

    3.10 Roam pageMove current page.

    Select Roam button in [Main toolbar] / [Floating

    toolbar] to move the page to be infinite.

    3.12.2 Line

    The line tool can be used in page drawing area and

    desktop annotation, and the line color, thickness,

    transparency, line type and length unit can be set up

    separately.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Line button.

    3.12.3 Dashed line

    The line tool can be used to draw dashed line on the

    page, and the dashed line type can be configured in

    system settings.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Dashed Line button.

    3.12.4 Magic pen

    The magic pen can be used to make intelligent judgment

    for any closed lines drawn by user on the page and show

    them in normal geometric graphs such as rectangle,triangle, oblong shape, trapezoid and so on.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    3.12.5 Point to Point Pen

    This tool can be used to draw any broken line, curve

    or geometric graph. Meanwhile, the thickness, color,

    transparency, length unit, solid or hollow effect of how

    the line can be set.

    Operation:

    1. Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Point to Point button.

    2. Click on the Point to Point button once to

    draw a point, click on it again, and the two points will

    be formed into a straight line, until a closed object is

    drawn.

    3.11 Select

    If other operation is needed, click on [Select] to revert to a

    selection tool / mouse pointer.

    Click on Select button in \ [Main toolbar] / [Floating

    toolbar].

    3.12 Pens

    The pen tool contains eight (8) pen types; pencil, line, dashed

    line, magic pen, point to point, highlighter, soft brush, and

    calligraphic brush. The color, thickness, transparency and

    other effects can be customized.

    Operation:

    Click on [Pens] in

    [Main toolbar], or in [Floating toolbar].

    3.12.1 Pencil

    The pencil tool can be used to write on current page, and

    the pencil color and thickness can be configured in systemsettings.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    3.9 Zoom

    Zoom in/out page or region

    Select [Zoom in] , [Zoom out] and

    [Region zoom] under in [Main toolbar].

    3.12.6 Highlighter

    The highlighter can be used directly to highlight in a

    semi-transparent color.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    3.12.7 Soft brush

    The soft brush can make the writing more natural aesthetic.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Soft Brush button.

    3.12.8 Calligraphic Pen

    Calligraphic pen allows annotating with a scripted stroke

    mimicking a calligraphy pen.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Calligraphic Brush button.

    3.13 ColorOperation: Click on Property button in [Main toolbar] /

    [Floating toolbar].

    Setting of paintbrush color, transparency and thickness:

    3.14 Eraser

    Four erasers are provided, namely, ordinary eraser, ellipse

    eraser, object eraser and page eraser.

    Operation: Click on Eraser button in [Main toolbar] /

    [Floating toolbar].

    Eraser: Three ordinary erasers including small-sized eraser,

    middle-sized eraser and big-sized eraser, as well as ellipse

    eraser, object eraser, and page eraser are provided.

    Prompt: Eraser is designed to erase pen text only. (As shown

    in the figure)

    3.15 Inserts

    3.15.1 Image

    Insert an image: Image can be inserted into the page.

    Operation: Select [Image] button in [Main toolbar] /

    [Floating toolbar] to add an image to editing

    area of page, and the operation procedure is shown in

    Figures 1-2.

    Note: Image formats contain: JPG., PNG and so on.

    After an image is added to a page, it can be deleted byselecting the file and right clicking on Delete.

    3.15.2 Flash file

    Flash files can be added to a page.

    Operation: Select button in [Main toolbar] / [Floating

    toolbar] to add a section of Flash file in editing area

    of page, and the operation procedure is shown in Figures

    1-2.

    Note: The flash player plays files in a .swf format.

    Select Flash file to be added.

    3.15.3 Video file

    Video files can be added to a page.

    Operation: select in [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    to add a video file into the page, as shown in

    Figures 1-2.

    Note: The video player can play AVI, WMV, and MP3

    formats.

    Select Flash file and add it to the page.

    Double-click on flash icon to start playing flash file or stop

    playing flash. Clear flash file by clicking on X.

    Double-click on video icon to start playing video file or

    pause and stop playing file. Clear video file by clicking

    the arrow to the right.

    3.15.4 Chart tools

    Add various custom charts to the page.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    button.

    Prepare a chart: Add a new chart, or edit and delete a chart.

    3.15.5 Table tool

    Add a table to the page.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    button.

    Prepare a chart: The line width and color of chart can be

    set simultaneously.

    Enter text: Write text into the cell as shown in the figure

    Add a new chart, and enter name and value.

    3.15.6 Background color

    Single color fill, gradient, grid, and image background.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    button, and the background will be in

    the color set by user.

    Select the background color in the color editor.

    After the color to be added is confirmed, the background of

    page will change color. The background color of page canbe cleared by clicking on Cancel background.

    3.15.8 Remove background

    Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    button to remove the background

    color and background image added to the page.

    3.16 Text

    Add a text to the page.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Text button.

    Text tool: Text can be added in text area. Click the text

    editing icon and the text edit box will appear.

    Text (font, size, format, zone and color) can be set, and

    annotation can be added in text area. Touch the soft

    keyboard, and type directly on the screen.

    3.15.7 Background image

    Add a background image to the page.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    to add a background image.

    3.17 Handwriting Recognition

    Annotate numbers or letters directly on the page and

    i3BOOK will recognize your writing, turn it into editable text.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Text button.

    3.18 Fill and Border Fill

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    content color fill and Border Fill button.

    Color fill: Employ fill tool.

    Select any solid object, and then select color to apply

    content and border color fill and grid fill.

    3.19 Mathematical Tool

    3.19.1 Ruler

    The ruler can rotate to any angle and stretched infinitely

    according to your needs.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Ruler Tool button.

    The ruler will be displayed in the page, as shown in the figure.

    Stretch or narrow the length of ruler, and the graduation

    value will be increased and decreased accordingly. Click on

    the button on the ruler to change the measurement

    type. Use the button to rotate the ruler.

    3.19.2 Triangle

    Use a right triangular ruler tool to measure the opposite

    angle on the page, and rotate or move the right triangular

    ruler tool. Click on the button on ruler, and the unit

    and degree of angle to be measured can be changed.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Triangular Ruler Tool button.

    Draw a straight line with painting brush and line tool

    along the graduation edge of ruler. Use the Turn

    button to rotate the right triangular ruler. (As shown in

    the figure)

    3.19.3 Protractor tool

    The protractor tool can be used to measure angles.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Protractor Tool button.

    Operation of measuring an angle:

    Align one yellow pointer line of the protractor

    with one leg of the angle to be measured.

    If the yellow pointer line and the lower leg of the angle

    cannot be aligned, click on to rotate the protractor.

    As shown in the figure above:

    After one yellow pointer line of the protractor is aligned

    with one leg of the angle, rotate the other yellow pointer

    to align it with the other leg of the angle to be measured.

    The degree of the angle will automatically be displayed

    the center of the semi-circle. As shown in the figure

    above.

    Click the button in protractor, and click on the option

    >Function>Draw Angle so a check mark appears in front

    of Draw Angle

    After fixing one end of protractor, rotate the yellow

    pointer line to the desired degree mark, and the system

    will automatically display the angle you need.

    To change the protractor size, drag the button left

    or right, along the base of the protractor.

    Exit:Click on button to exit, as shown in the figure

    IV. SOFTWARE FEATURES

    3.19.4 Compass tool

    The compass tool can be used to easily draw arcs and

    sectors.

    Drawing an arc:

    Operation:

    1. Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    icon, and when the compass tool appears in the page,

    select [Drawing mode] Arc Drawing Tool buttonin the compass.

    2. The compass has three operational points: the spiked

    bar, the bar with the pen and the handle. Drag the

    spiked bar to move and rotate the compass. Drag the

    bar with the pen to increase or decrease the distance

    between the bars (circle radius). Drag the handle to

    draw.

    Draw a sector:

    Operation:

    1. Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    icon, and when the compass tool appears in the page,

    select [Drawing mode] Sector Drawing Tool

    button in the compass.

    2. The compass has three

    operational points: the spiked

    bar, the bar with the pen and

    the handle. Drag the spiked

    bar to move and rotate the

    compass. Drag the bar with the

    pen to increase or decrease

    the distance between the bars(sector radius). Drag the handle

    to draw.

    3.19.5 Function

    Provide various different types of function. In use,

    input the function expression, click on OK and the

    corresponding function graph will be generated.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Function button.

    Function button:

    Eight types of functions are available. Select a predefinedfunction from function toolbar or input your own

    expression in [Custom] (as shown in the figure), click OK

    and the corresponding function graph can be generated.

    Add a negative sign before the function, and the function

    graph direction can be adjusted.

    3.19.6 Mathematical formula

    User can view or set a mathematical formula.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    3.20 Others

    3.20.1 Shade

    Shade can be used to hide/reveal certain areas of the

    screen. The shade can be dragged in all directions.

    Operation: Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    [Shade] button.

    3.20.2 Black screen

    The black screen tool allows you to black out the screen and

    display a text message.

    Operation:

    1. Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Black Screen button.

    2. Enter the message to be displayed.

    3.20.3 Full screen editing

    Display the page content in full screen mode.

    Operation:

    Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Full Screen Edit button. (As shown in Figures 1-2)

    Click on the button on lower right corner to exit from

    full screen edit state.

    3.20.4 Screen capture

    Operation:

    Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Screen Capture button. As shown in the figure:

    3.20.5 Screen recording

    This function is used to record the operation steps of screen.

    Operation:

    Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Screen Recording button.

    Click on [Start] to start recording your actions and save

    them in WMV video format.

    Click on to pause recording. Click on to stop recording.

    IV. SOFTWARE FEATURES

    3.20.6 Spotlight

    The spotlight tool is provided to highlight a certain area

    of the screen. The spotlight can be freely dragged in all

    directions.

    Operation:

    Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Spotlight button.

    3.20.7 Exhibition Stand

    Operation:

    Click on [Main toolbar] / [Floating toolbar]

    Exhibition Stand button.

    The Exhibition stand converts your webcam into a

    document camera so that real objects can be shown and

    turned into electronic pictures. (As shown in Figures 1-2).

    3.21 Custom Tool

    The custom tool list can be used to put common tools (e.g.

    office, ie browser, etc.) in the i3BOOK toolbar. Saved tools

    can be displayed by clicking on [Custom tool].

    Select the tool, click on button, and

    the tool can be deleted.

    3.22 i3BOOK Menu

    3.22.1 Software registration

    Refer to II. i3BOOK Registration

    3.22.2 Custom tool list

    Custom tool list can be used to put common tools (e.g.

    office, ie browser, etc.) in the i3BOOK toolbar making

    them easy to reach.

    After opening, click on the button,

    display the custom tool path, click on button on

    the right, select the common tool you need, click OK.

    The tool can also be displayed in the function list

    below, and viewed in [Custom tool] of

    main toolbar.

    3.23.4 System settings

    System settings can be used to change the language.

    3.24 Floating toolbar

    3.24.1 Switch back to desktop

    When i3BOOK software in the foreground, click on Switch

    back to Desktop button, and computer desktop content

    can be displayed, not needing exiting from software.

    Operation:

    Click on [Floating toolbar] button.

    3.24.2 Save commentSave the annotation which is made in desktop state.

    Note:Click on [Floating toolbar] button.

    3.24.3 Switch back to software

    When i3BOOK is open, click on Switch back to Desktop

    button, and computer desktop content can be displayed,

    without needing to exit from software. To swtiching

    back, click on this button, and the whiteboard content

    can be displayed.

    Operation:Click on [Floating toolbar] button.

    3.25 Toolbar on the left

    3.25.1 Page list

    Click on Page List to display all the pages in your lesson.

    Operation:

    Select [Page list] in [Toolbar on the left].

    3.23 More

    By default, the [More] button includes the [Custom

    Tools] and [i3BOOK] buttons. When the screen resolution

    or the window size are insufficient, more buttons will be

    added to it to keep the screen clutter free

    3.25.2 Common

    The Common tool can be used to display basic object

    information (e.g. circle, five-pointed star, polygon, etc.), and

    user can directly drag the symbol to the page to use.

    Operation:

    Select [Common] in [Toolbar on the left] (as shown in the

    figure below).

    3.26 Drag

    You can directly drag the picture, text and other files

    to current page of white board, so as to display the

    materials such as picture and text file, etc. directly on

    the page, as shown in Figures 1-2.
