The poem I Wonder is a poem about a rather intelligent and perceptive child who is curious about her surroundings.

In this poem, the child is curious about the elements of nature. Throughout the poem, the child's inquisitiveness is displayed through her questions about things around us.

Couplet 1 I wonder why the grass is green And why the wind is never seen The persona is wondering about her

surroundings and questions why the grass is green and not other colour.

The persona also wonders why she cannot see the wind although she can feel it.

is not fully seen, wondering where the other half is hiding.

In the daytime, the persona observes the fluffy clouds, the green grass, feels the wind and observes the trees and the birds’ nest.

There could have been some rain as the persona observes a flash of lightning and a rainbow.

As the day progress into night, the persona observes the moon and the stars.
