I Timothy 2:1-7 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time. 7 And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying—and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles.

Hebrews 4:14-16

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus

the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high

priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet

was without sin. 16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we

may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in

love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in

order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are

hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 I tell you this so that no

If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how
