    WHAT IS A GOOD TEACHER?

    According to R Singh and C. Padilla, Good teachers generally have the following

    qualifications:

    1. Ability to stimulate interest

    2. Wealth of commentarial statements

    3. Attention to pupils while reciting

    4. An effective oraganization of subject matter

    5. Well- developed assignments

    6. Good use of illustrative materials

    7. Provision of individual differences

    8. An effective method of appraising the work students

    9. Freedom from disciplinary difficulties

    10. Knowledge of the subject matter taught

    C. TEACHERSTUDENT RELATIONSHIP

    1. The teacher should always act in the best interest of his students.

    2. The teacher should not divulge private confidential matters and infromation he

    knows about the pupil/ student.

    3. The teacher should not give a pupil/student special tutoring during his free period

    and accept pay or any kind of gift as payment for extra service to add to his

    meager salary.

    4. The teacher should not insult a pupil/student in class because of his inability to

    give the correct answer.

    5. The teacher should never enter the class under the influence of liquor.

    6. The teacher should make the learning experiences of the pupil/student

    enjoyable, fruitful and meaningful.

    7. He should be firm but gentle in matters of discipline.

    8. He should never allow imself to be influenced by any consideration other than

    merit in the evaluation of the pupils/students work.

    9. He should always maintain his dignity and self-respect when dealing with

    pupils/students and should refrain from receiving favors directly or indirectly from

    any of his pupils/students or their parents.

    - the teacher presents the lesson through pictures, sketches, diagrams,

    graphs or other related illustrations.
