August 4: Leslie Paula and the Latin Soul BandThe three-octave plus vocalist and her exciting band thrill audiences onto the dance floor with a music rangefrom conga-line Salsa to “Themes from My Heart” Spanish ballads lifting Pop, R&B and Jazz to a higher level.Leslie has performed for many Oscar, Emmy and Super Bowl celebrations, the Playboy Jazz festival,as well as many other large-scale Jazz festivals throughout the United States and Europe.
August 11: Eric’s Big BandEric’s 10 piece swing, jump, blues and boogie-woogie band does its own brand of music as ssell as old coverswing tunes that will have guests dancing the night away. The group is quite the diverse band that plays songsfrom the 30s, 40s and SOs, along with modern standards that are all ‘very well known. Ihe have a very cxtensise song list which includes big band, swing, R — B, covei tunes, cha chas, standards and frank Sinatiahits, fric plays the piano and is the lead singer for the group. He brings great enthusiasm and entertainmentto each performance with his band.
August 18: Joyce PartiseJoyLe Partise brings sultry style, Ilair and excitement to those she entertains, She has an impressive ability to tell astorY through a song. and het music. sung in both Portuguese and Fnglish. creating an air of sensuality, romance,and allure that reaches the hearts of those who hear her. Since childhood, Joyce Part ise has been most influenced bBrazilian Bossa Noa, Samba, and the timeless standaids of the American Songbook, and she features classics fromAntonio C arlos Jobim, Astrud Gilberto, and othei Brazilian legends during each of her performances. Whetheryou’re 25 or 65, you’ll instantl) tecognize — and fall in lose with — ]oyces music.
August 25: Under the Stars with Wise:A Celebration of The Pop American Songbook, Israeli,
Sephardic and Yiddish SongsStephen Wise Temple is the address where great Jewish music happens in Los Angeles, a placewhere all genres of music are welcome. Sacred texts are made new with contemporary settingsat Wise, where our musical tradition is honored; where people know they will experiencesomething special. This evening will feature some of the many talents of the Wise musicalteam. Featuring Cantor Nate Lam, Cantor Emma Lutz, Rabbi Yoshi Zweiback, David Kates,Sara Mann, and Whitney Norton.
