Headley Discovery Hide – visit this beginner bird watcher hide in World Wetlands to use the binoculars, bird ID books and pick up tips on watching wildlife.

RBC Rain Garden – a beautiful wildflower meadow and creature habitats offer inspiration for your garden back home.

Our otters – watch their antics as they swim, feed and play.

Sand martin bank – peer into the secret life of breeding sand martins.

Explore Adventure area, Discovery Centre and Pond Zone – exciting interactive areas for families to enjoy together.

Peacock Tower – visit our three storey hide for panoramic views across the reserve.

Binoculars Binoculars are available for hire, please ask at admissions.

Accessibility The site is accessible for wheelchairs and buggies, with level tarmac or compacted stone paths throughout. There is lift access to all floors of the centre and Peacock Tower (except the 1st floor of the Wildside hide). Please refer to the map overleaf for locations of accessible toilets, baby change facilities and areas of limited access.

Photography There are great photo opportunities here and it’s fine for you to take photos for personal use. For more information, please go to our website.

Opening times Centre: 9.30am – 4.30pm winter / 5.30pm summer. Open 7 days per week, except 25 Dec and closing at 3pm on 24 Dec. Last admission 1 hour before closing.

Café: 9.30am - 4.30pm winter / 5.30pm summer. Last orders 30 minutes before closing. Hot food is served midday - 3pm daily. There is also a refreshment kiosk in Explore, open during school holidays and summer weekends.

TalkS and acTIvITIeS DailyOtter feeds Watch our Asian short-clawed otters as they hunt for food and play, and discover more about them from the warden.

11.30am & 2.30pm - Guided tours (up to 11/2 hrs) Fascinating insights into the centre’s creation and the wildlife living here. Meet at the courtyard map.

Feed the birds (30 mins) Join our wardens as they feed the exotic birds in Wetlands of the World. Learn more about WWT’s conservation work around the world. Meet at the courtyard map.

Take care and help uS prOTecT The wIldlIfe here• Please stay on the paths and be careful near deep water.

• Enjoy your close encounters with wildlife here but remember all animals can carry diseases. Washing your hands is a sensible way to protect yourself, especially before eating.

• Birds have ears too – you’ll see more around the site and in hides if you are quiet and approach slowly.

• Leaves, flowers and berries are vital for our wildlife so please don’t pick them – some may be harmful to you.

• Our birds eat special food – please don’t feed the birds anywhere other than in the Duck Tales exhibit (with the food provided).
