The triennial symposia on Turbulence, Heat and Mass Transfer provide a forum for exchange of ideas, methods and results in a broad area of heat and mass transfer governed by or associated with turbulence. It provides opportunities for scientists and engineers from industry and academia to present recent advances, to discuss current problems and to anticipate future needs and prospects.

This Seventh Symposium in the series follows the concept, format and focus established at previous conferences held in Lisbon, Portugal (1994), Delft, The Netherlands (1997), Nagoya, Japan (2000), Antalya, Turkey (2003), Dubrovnik, Croatia (2006) and Rome, Italy (2009). Its origin dates back, however, to the Joint ICHMT/IUTAM Symposium on Structure of Turbulence, Heat and Mass Transfer, held in Dubrovnik in 1980.

The broad spectrum of topics covered in this Symposium, with new challenges and trends introduced by keynote speakers, substantiates again that turbulence continues to play a key role in convective heat and mass transfer, and that many still open problems and issues await further research and closer international cooperation and communication.
