Teaching tool - movies

One of the best ways to understand the drugs addicts, their emotions, and the damage caused is watch the movie. We chose two: “Requiem for a dream” and “Tough Enough”. They are combined with general theme of drugs, but in different situations. One movie shows the direct drug consumption, the consequences of addiction, and devastation of it. The other film conveys the history a drug dealer. However, such indirect ‘talk’ with drugs becomes an addiction or not? This and other important questions, we’ve tried to figure out.

Movie “Tough enough” poster made by students

Students have watched the movie “Tough enough”, and one of their tasks was to create a poster for this film. As you can see it shows a boy, Michael, and his face is covered by the letter that symbolize the prison grating. Though he hasn’t been imprisoned in fact, but the prison was created by himself.

Movie analysis: problem map

The students tried to express all their

feelings while writing the review of

movie. And quite unexpectedly all the

negative feelings formed a

boomerang. So we realized that all the

bad things are coming back to us.

Traditional evenings “ By the tea”

Great way to communicate with various people and listen to their stories, choices and experience in an informal environment. What could be better than talking with a person, who enjoys life with all challenges and wants to share it with others

Photo Exhibition “Life is beautiful” presentation

A photo exhibition was held during the annual school event (“Week of colors”). A lot of people shared their photographs. All the photos spread the beauty of life which do not need any stimulating measures like drugs or alcohol, which are only overshadowing the true well-being and provides temporary and artificial beauty and happiness to experience it.

Movie “Life is beautiful”

We asked school community members why life is beautiful for them and mounted a short video.
