LET'S CELEBRATE
IT'S OUR THIRTIETH!
*
At first glance thirty years of life for
a synagogue may not seem very long when
you consider that some Temples in the
United States are a century and a half
or more old. But when thirty years is
all you have, that history can be pre
cious indeed because it encompasses threE
generations still bonded together. For
some of our families a religious life
cycle has all but come to a full turn.
There are those of you whose affiliation
with B'Nai Or is more recent. Still,
this Temple has been an enormous influ
ence in obvious and subtle ways.
Our thirtieth anniversary is going to be
a celebration of Jewish life. Every man.
woman and child should feel that they
are celebrants. We invite you to share
in the wonderful series of 30th Anniver
sary events that begins with an exciting
Shabbat Musical Service on September 8th.
Calendar that date for a start.
Happy thirtieth to us - L'chaim!
Rabbi Z. David Levy

Letters pertaining to HIGH HOLY DAY SCHEDULES will be sent to the congregation early in June. We suggest you respond as soon as possible in order to expedite our second mailing, which will include the High Holy Day tickets.
Through the UAHC, all Reform congregations have a reciprocal agreement for the High Holy Days. If you will be out of town during the holidays, please contact Shirley Bloo and she will arrange a reciprocal letter for the Reform Temple in the town you will be visiting. If you have friends or relatives visiting you over the holidays, they will be welcome to worship with us if they present a valid reciprocal letter from the Reform Temple to which they belong at home.
If you have any questions regarding the High Holy Day mailing, please call me. Have a very healthy and pleasant summer.
Deenie Schlosser (538-2562) Chairperson
We ask our members to make every
effort to send their dues payments
in as soon as possible. Payment at
time of billing is essential to the
efficient management of the Temple.
High Holy Day seating and all prlvl
leges are extended to members in
good standing.

jsterhood Our meeting at Ellen Kimmel's home was a success. Dr. Galinsky spoke about the Morris School District's plans for the next five years and answered many questions pertaining to the education of our children. Our thanks to Ellen for being a gracious hostess, to Bobbi Schatz for all the planning involved, to Joanne Borin and Terry Youngelson for the refreshments, and to all the Sisterhood members who attended and made Dr. Galinsky feel welcome.
The Second Annual Mother/Daughter Dinner on May 29th will be our last program of the year. A mentalist is scheduled to entertain us. Pood will be coordinated by Patti Aresty.
We thank the entire Sisterhood Board for all the help, cooperation and initiative they have shown this year. We could not have had the fine year we did without everyone's help. Thanks, too, to Evelyn for her expert secretarial help, to Shirley for her advice and patience, and to Bob and Cornel for the setting up, cleaning up and help with our functions at Temple. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with our Temple " family" and look forward to 1984-85.
The Slate of Officers approved for next year is: Co-Presidents, Ellen Konwiser and Marilyn Piermont; 1st Vice President, Catherine Litwin; Vice President (Community), Renee Levy; Vice President (Membership), Ellen Kimmel; Vice President (Education), Sue Keats; Recording Secretary, Debbie Ross; Corresponding Secretary, Sue Lappin; Financial Secretary, Ruth Herr; Treasurer, Heline Marcello.

- - RELIGIOUS SCHOOL NEWS - -
On Friday evening, June 1st, we will be expressing our appreciation to the Religious School teachers, four of whom are celebrating significant anniversaries with our staff. . .
Neil Nierenberg and Judy Steinberg, 25 years; Hilde Spain, 10 years; and Aliza Aharoni, 5 years. Their dedication and experiences works for the benefit of our children.
Several new teachers joined our staff this year: Beth Benson, Jayne HershkowitzGoralsky, Dee Gozonsky, Art Klein, Ruth Shamir, Nancy Robinson, Gail Twersky and Lynne Weinick. Their special talents have allowed us to add new programs and courses this year.
The other members of our staff: Sharon Acierno, Marilyn Barber, Terri Friedman, Haya Gartner, Bernice Haberman, Deana Luchs, Bette Ann Marcus, Judy ray, Susanne Mosl er, Bette Rosenbusch, Pam Schlosberg, Rivkah Shacham and Fran Stern, have worked at developing our program so that it is effective at reaching each of our students. Phil Kaufman did a wonderful job as acting principal in January, and Debbie Ross and Rona Cohen continue to expand our library program.
We would also like to thank all who have contributed to The Jason Lewis Fund For Special Education. It has allowed us to provide two programs reaching fourteen students, some of whom might not otherwise have been able to participate in the Rel igious School program. We are proud to be taking a leading position in this area.

"OUTREACH" NES
Our informational brunch in April was a very successful endeavor. As a result of that program, we now are forming two support groups at Temple - one group for Temple parents who have children married to or about to marry non- Jews or converts to Judaism, the other for recent or contemplative converts. Please call the Temple or any Outreach Committee member for more information.
Our "Basic Judaism" course enrollment is climbing (20 as of May 10th). This program promises to be very rewarding, and a great way for some of us to learn more about Judaism.
Our committee has been very busy this year. We feel that we have accomplished our goals and look forward to next year with much enthusiasm. Our main objective continues to be meeting the needs of our congregation and the Jewish community at large. If you would like to work on a very rewarding and important Temple committee, please call me.
A big thank you to Rabbi Levy, Rabbi Aron, my committee members, Evelyn, Shirley, Debbie and the entire congregation for the support they have given the Outreach effort

MIXED MARRIEDS
This has been a.year of tremendous personal growth for the participants of the mixed married group. With the support of Rabbi Levy and Rabbi Aron, we have been able to pursue meaningful topics and engage in thought provoking discussion. The group has provided a place for interfaith couples in the congregation and the community to explore and share their feelings and concerns.
Our FAMILY PICNIC will be held on Saturday, June 16th, at 4: 00 p.m. at the home of Marcia and Horst Schran. All members are welcome.
