A new Comenius Project started in our school

A new Comenius multilateral pro-ject, coordinated by our school, is starting this year, with partners from Slovenia, Spain and Turkey. The project is called “Active Citizenship through Fairy Con-tent Tales”, shortly called “ACT-FACT”, and it wants to develop European citizen-ship using characters and heroes from traditional tales from the partner coun-tries, also to motivate pupils to read books instead of using computer games. The project already started in August, when each school selected their target group, project team, and joined the yahoo group , ACT-F [email protected], in order to have access to the information related to the project. The first project meeting took place in Suceava and Vatra Dornei, between 19th and 25th September, and it was the first common step in going on with the project activities. The meeting was successful, in terms of lessons assisted, aspects designed for the next month, till the meeting in Slovenia, which will be organized by the end of March next year. The most interesting activities were two lessons, one realized by Ms. Mihaela Guzu, teacher of English, finalized with a play, “The Red Ridding Hood”, and the other one was designed

by Mrs. Rodica Zimbru and Mrs. Daniela Babii, and it consisted in a parallel between three fairy tales, “Aladin”, “The Sleeping Beauty” and “The Golden Fish”. It was organized with the pupils from the 5th level, and it was designed as a CLIL lesson, where pupils had to offer arguments, to compare, to formulate opinions, related to similarities and differ-ences between those stories, in terms of travel means, wishes, threats a.s.o. Then, the activities moved on to Vatra Dornei, to the Kindergarten “The Stories’ House”, which is also a partner in this project. They organized two activi-ties, one related to the story of “Three Little Pigs”, and the other one showed some traditional Romanian dances. It was then followed by a cultural trip to Tihuta, to the Dracula’s Castle, after that, a common festive dinner was organized. The partners continued to do the designed activities, one of them being to send “travelling boxes” to each partner. So, we have already got the box from Slovenia, full of greeting cards, nice ma-terials realized by the pupils, and also sent our boxes for all the partners. We hope they get them before Christmas.

Friendship without borders

Within the Comenius partnership, and apart from it, some Slovenian and Roma-nian pupils, together with their teachers - started to communicate via e-mail and so

they improve their English also their knowl-edge about the partner schools. Their ini-tiative is very good and we are sure pupils are excited. Wish them success!

Some of them will participate into the project meeting in Slovenia in March. They are very happy for this. In the meantime, they are preparing a play to act there, for their colleagues and pen friends.

They also create fairy tales to be inserted in the book that is prepared to be taken with us in the meeting in Slovenia, as designed in the application form. We have never imagined how exciting is to be a fairy tales author.


It’s our favourite story because it’s funny. We like it because it is about the eternal conflict between mothers-in-law and their sons’ wives. Mothers want the best for their sons or daughters but there are no perfect persons in the world.

In this story, Mother-in-law tells her daughters-in-law that she has a magic eye in the back of her head, which is wide open even when she is asleep. One of her sons’ wives realizes she lies in order to make them work more and they avenge them-

My winter holiday My winter holiday was simple because I visited my relatives and I spent time with my family. I had a Christmas tree decorated with garlands of red and gold. I spent New Year at the church listening to the service after I had fun with some friends. (IOANA)

Christmas holidays! Christmas holidays are the most beautiful. Out-side it’s snowing and it is very cold. All the chil-dren go caroling on Christmas to people’s doors. It’s beautiful! For me it was wonderful. I had fun and I ate very much. I visited my rela-tives and played games. I had fun with my family!!! (Bianca) Winter holidays My winter holiday was incredible because I`ve spent it with my best friends and I`ve visited my grandparents. On Christmas it was great and Santa was generous. New Year’s Eve was fabulous. I was at the concert with my friends. The holidays passed very quickly. (Lori) Christmas holiday I spent my Christmas holidays with friends for hours on end. Before going to the party we went caroling and received money and sweets in return. On New Year’s Eve I went downtown with the same friends and we stayed until 10 o'clock. Slove-nian cuisine is divided into town, farmhouse, cottage, castle, parsonage, and monastic Slovenian cuisine. Many Slovenian dishes are based on the use of animal fat; ocvirki, zaseka, bacon, lard, drippings, mushrooms, pork, flour-based dishes, potatoes, beans, butter, cream and eggs. Celebrating winter days, we become more friendly and can show this to each other Reading and singing and laughing are usual activities in

our school, but wh en the i r hands make

some art crafts together, our second form children start to live indeed. They have pas-sion, devotion and interest to show and put their little souls to work, too. It was a winter work-shop when children could cre-ate trees, plants, deer and hedgehogs which suffer from frost, using paper and other materials. It was an unforgetta-ble afternoon.

Celebrating winter days

Oksana: Hi ! I'm gonna tell you my top 10 favourite things in my life. The first thing I love is Justin Bieber, because he's cute, funny and great singer. The second thing is nutella, I love it, I can eat it all day long. And the third thing is floorball. I play it everyday, but I injured my knee so I won't be playing it for a long time. The fourth thing is my room, because I have everything I need in it. The fifth thing is food. I'm always hungry so I really love food. Sixth are my friends , I honestly can't imagine living without them. The seventh is my phone, because I can stay in contact with everybody. Eight are my suffed animals because they are so fluffy and cute. The ninth is fashion, I love fashion and I can't explain why. And the last but not least is my family, they always support me and love me for who I am. I can't wait to see you and get to know you better bye ! Lejla: Hey ! I like watching a lot of films, because some films are fun, some are scary and some are very romantic. I like listening to music: to Jennifer Lopez, China Anne McClain and to a lot of singers. I like playing volleyball every day. I like it because you can meet some friends there and my parents are very happy for me. I'm good at volleyball because I'm quite tall

and I can block a ball. Lili: Hey ! I love shopping, because I love having new clothes in my closet. Second thing is french-fries and meat balls.
