I am risen, and I am always with you, alleluia; you have placed your hand upon me, alleluia; your wisdom had been shown to be most wonderful, alleluia, alleluia.
O Lord, you have searched me and known me; you know when I sit down and when I rise up.

Missa Brevis
Giovanni Pierluigi da Pale-
strina (1525-1594)
The Missa Brevis is a mass
written by Giovanni Pierlui-
gi da Palestrina and first published in 1570 in
Palestrina’s Third Book of Masses. The title can
be misleading as Missa Brevis is commonly a
short mass. Palestrina likely chose the word
Brevis as this was the most adequate word to
portray the piece. This work is considered to be
one of the most performed of Palestrina’s reper-
toire of polyphony.
Congratulations to all our RCIA Cate-
cheumens and Candidates who were re-
ceived into Full Communion with the
Catholic Church this weekend. God
bless you as you begin your new lives in
the Faith!
