A Message from Melissa Willis. . .
Children’s Worship Space Update: It has been a whirlwind of a summer. Two weeks before we had VBS we began demolition of the Reel to Real room to make way for a new multipurpose worship space for children. Our Men On Mission did quick work of removing fixtures, pulling up carpeting and getting the room ready to paint. We then had a team of great volunteers, parents, aunts, teachers, youth interns, and grandparents who showed up several days and for several hours to prime, sand, and paint our space. Georgia Drywall put in our new ceiling and Kirkland’s Flooring put in our new carpet. Larry Leech, our maintenance supervisor, created and built our sound platform, and Dan Guadinier is putting in all of our lights, speakers, and screens. We are almost ready to begin Children’s Worship on August 11. Please be in prayer for our leaders and children. We still need volunteers for our 11 o’clock service. We invite you to join us in worship once or twice a month and help children make a lasting connection with Jesus Christ! Contact Melissa ([email protected]) to become a team member. With Joy, ~Melissa

IRA Withdrawals
Did you know that you and First Baptist Church may benefit from a charitable rollover? Making a donation to FBC directly from your IRA can: 1. Be an easy and convenient way to make a gift from one of your major assets; 2. Be excluded from your adjustable gross income: a tax- free rollover; 3. Count toward your required minimum distribu-tion (RMD).
For your gift to qualify for benefits under the extension:
1. You must be 70½ years or older at the time of the gift; 2. The transfer must go directly from your IRA to FBC; 3. Your total IRA gift(s) cannot exceed $100,000 each year. For more information on how to make a direct gift from your IRA to FBC, contact your IRA administra-
tor or your legal and financial advisors.
