Method Statement for 150 m 3 Tanks Hydro Test 1. Scope: This procedure describes the work plan for HFO/LFO vertical tanks (150m 3 ) hydro test according to the API 650. Any deviation of procedure shall be discussed and approved with CEB before commence. This procedure shall remain valid until it supersedes client’s instruction manual or proper instruction given by client’s engineer. 2. Responsibilities: The supervisor shall be responsible for total testing process. More attention shall be paid on safety and health as described in this plan. If any activity becomes unclear, he shall contact CEB responsible Engineer immediately. The QA/QC inspector is responsible for the checking of tanks condition and previous relevant test result before testing. He shall inspect and record required level measurements filling intervals etc. 3 Test Procedure: This activity shall perform as method of Testing of the shell (API 650, section 5). After the entire tank and roof structure is completed, the shell shall be tested by this method. i. Preparation works Following preparation shall be done before tank hydro test work start at the tank farm. All welding and gas cutting on tank shell and bottom shall be completed. (Tank roof and any other attachments, which not directly welding to tank shell/bottom can be perform after hydro test too.) Tank shall be checked for plumpness and recorded as per API code. Method Statement for 150 m3 Tanks Hydro Test

1. Scope:

This procedure describes the work plan for HFO/LFO vertical tanks (150m3) hydro test

according to the API 650. Any deviation of procedure shall be discussed and approved

with CEB before commence. This procedure shall remain valid until it supersedes client’s

instruction manual or proper instruction given by client’s engineer.

2. Responsibilities:

The supervisor shall be responsible for total testing process. More attention shall be

paid on safety and health as described in this plan. If any activity becomes unclear, he

shall contact CEB responsible Engineer immediately.

The QA/QC inspector is responsible for the checking of tanks condition and previous

relevant test result before testing. He shall inspect and record required level

measurements filling intervals etc.

3 Test Procedure:

This activity shall perform as method of Testing of the shell (API 650, section 5). After the

entire tank and roof structure is completed, the shell shall be tested by this method.

i. Preparation works

Following preparation shall be done before tank hydro test work start at the tank farm.

All welding and gas cutting on tank shell and bottom shall be completed. (Tank

roof and any other attachments, which not directly welding to tank shell/bottom

can be perform after hydro test too.)

Tank shall be checked for plumpness and recorded as per API code.

Temporary filling line to be fixed firmly and draining facilities shall consider.

All tools and appliances and temporary power connections to be remove.

Tank shall box up with presence of HSE officer.

Following steps shall follow and recorded.

Initial tank level reading shall be recorded. For this it may use six positions of

anchor brackets on even space, which welded to tank shell at bottom level. These

brackets shall be numbered and take level measurements.

The tank shall be filled water up to one third (1/3) of filling height and take the

same level measurement.

If those level sheets indicate any unusual difference values, tank filling shall stop

and discussed.

If not so, filling shall be continued up to full height means to over flow level.

During the filling level measurement shall be monitor.

After filling up to over flow level again level measurement shall recorded and

compared.

This water shall remain for twelve hours for any tank settlement.

Then take again level measurement and checked.

Finally all welding joints and tank shell nozzle shall be visually inspected with

client’s representative.

Note - Any welded joints above the test water level shall be examined by painting all

the inside joints with a highly penetrating oil and carefully examine outside joints for

leakage.
