The Next Generation of Hydrotest Monitoring

HYDRO 3000The next generation of hydrotest monitoring instrumentation

Aquatec has a long history of innovation and was founded in 1990 by the current managing director as a specialist consultancy in oceanographic design. Since then, the company has established a diverse portfolio of products for the measurement of oceanographic and process parameters, as well as establishing a range of services including instrument and communication design. Hydrotest monitoring has been a core element of our product offering for over 10 years.

Hydrotest Monitoring

To demonstrate a successful hydrotest, a continuous record of pressure is required. Aquatec provides logging and real time systems: from subsea instrumentation and data communication to the report that gives a permanent record of the test.

Once the pipeline under test has been sealed, the internal pressure may vary with temperature – caused for example by tidal fronts. It is important to be able to record temperature variations during the hydrotest so that any temperature-related cyclic or step pressure changes can be correctly correlated to temperature. All HYDROlog instruments include temperature measurement, including a range of temperature-only instruments that can be used to gather temperature data at additional locations along the pipeline. Loggers with external temperature probes are available for fast response times in dynamic environments.

The Next Generation

Following the success of the reliable and popular HYDROlog 2000 hydrotest logger, Aquatec Group is proud to announce the launch of the next generation of hydrotest monitoring equipment – HYDRO 3000.

The range features high accuracy hydrotest loggers, including gauge and twin test pressure models, as well as flow monitoring instruments.

The latest hydrotest logger from Aquatec…

…measuring high accuracy test pressure and ambient temperature

The HYDROlog 3000PT instrument forms the core of the new HYDRO 3000 range of hydrotest monitoring instrumentation. It is a compact logger measuring test pressure to 1000bar and ambient temperature to depths of up to 4000m. The integral pressure sensor has ±0.05%FS accuracy and ±0.01%FS precision. New features include enhanced memory and faster download. With increasingly stringent lithium battery shipping regulations, the HYDROlog 3000 overcomes potential transit issues by using standard field-replaceable batteries available across the world. Users can choose the type of battery most suitable for each deployment, whether alkaline, lithium or rechargeable.

The HYDROlog 3000 is available in two additional models - one measuring gauge pressure, and one measuring two test pressures in a compact and efficiently designed instrument. The family of data loggers all feature the intuitive AQUAtalk software and self-contained compact design, and are compatible with the new higher speed AQUAmodem Op2 optical modem.

Measure pressure with precision using the HYDROgauge…

…displaying your data in real-time.

HYDROgauge High accuracy digital pressure gauge

The HYDROgauge is a high accuracy subsea pressure gauge, rated to 1000m depth and 1000bar test pressure. The integral pressure sensor has ±0.05%FS accuracy and ±0.01%FS precision.

With increasingly stringent lithium battery shipping regulations, the HYDROgauge overcomes potential transit issues by using standard field-replaceable batteries available across the world. Users can choose the type of battery most suitable for each deployment, whether alkaline, lithium or rechargeable.

KEY FEATURES

High accuracy and precision pressure• ±0.05%FS accuracy, ±0.01%FS precision• A variety of sensor options to optimise the specification – 300bar, 600bar, 1000bar

Long lasting performance• The HYDROgauge is designed with a low power display, making it ideal for sustained subsea

deployments.• The instrument can operate continuously for up to 15 days, depending on the setup.

Innovative design• The readings are presented on Aquatec’s new display, which can show up to 16 parameters over 4

screens. Data can also be presented graphically (on 16 graphs), with the last 33 measurements being shown on each compact plot.

• The user-friendly design means the HYDROgauge is simple to activate and deactivate using the optional magnetic switch.

• As standard batteries are used in the instrument, operators can replace batteries with ease, speeding up turnaround between deployments.

HYDROlog 3100 Hydrotest logger - deck

Deck versions of the latest hydrotest loggers from Aquatec…

…making surface training, testing and onshore hydrotesting cost-effective and efficient.

The HYDROlog 3100 instruments take the core functionality of the new HYDROlog 3000 subsea units and combine them with robust cases and user friendly interfaces to create deck versions. This allows surface training and testing to be completed with ease, as well as making onshore hydrotesting cost-effective and efficient. Available in a variety of models, the new deck logger range is a valuable tool for testing.

The rugged cases contain a single panel with all connectors in the interior, making it easy to transport without damage. The instruments are available with an optional integrated tablet, removing the need for a separate PC. If external power is not available, the HYDROlog 3100 can be supplied with internal batteries.

The HYDROlog 3100PT measures test pressure to 1000bar and ambient temperature, and the integral pressure sensor has ±0.05%FS accuracy and ±0.01%FS precision. The HYDROlog 3100PT is available in two additional models - one measuring gauge pressure, and one measuring two test pressures in the same compact and efficiently designed instrument.

The HYDROlog 3100F is a flow monitoring logger with additional test pressure and ambient temperature sensors. The standard model monitors 1 external flow sensor, and custom options are available for multi-channel flow monitoring.

The AQUAdisp™ is a revolutionary new subsea display, designed to offer a compact and low power alternative to other comparable instruments. The AQUAdisp can monitor up to 16 parameters and display them over 4 screens. Data can also be presented graphically (on 16 graphs), with up to 33hrs of data being shown on each compact plot. The low power technology means there is no need to turn it on or off. Three versions of the display are available, depending on whether it is to be used with Aquatec instrumentation or third party equipment. The AQUAdisp gives you the confidence in knowing that your monitoring instruments are working effectively.

• Displays up to 16 parameters over 4 screens and up to 16 graphs• Low power - no need to switch on and off• Rated to 4000m

The AQUAmodem Op2 is a subsea optical modem that provides a seamless interface between the user and any subsea instrumentation with RS232 serial interfaces, such as our HYDROlog hydrotest loggers. The connection is made typically via an ROV umbilical, providing simple use and deployment of the instrument.

The AQUAmodem Op2 features individual unit addressing and automatic optical or serial data wake-up, to conserve the life of the external battery pack and prolong the service of the device. The instrument permits short range interrogation, commanding, and data download for your subsea monitoring equipment, providing you with a cost-effective and efficient solution to solve your subsea communication needs.
