2004: The first Quicksilver drilling rig manufactured by IDM.
2009: Global Energy Services acquired IDM and continued to manufacture the Quicksilver drilling rig with the addition of a walking system.
2011: Fred Fortson, the design engineer of the Quicksilver walking system, designed a conversion system for the existing non-walking rigs
2012: Independent Contract Drilling acquires GES. Now manufactures the rigs exclusively for its own drilling services
2013: Hydraulic Systems, Inc., retains FGN Design Engineers, headed by Fred Fortson, to continue to design and market exclusively the Quicksilver drilling rig walking retrofit.

Four removable RigRunner™ waking feet pin-on assemblies are attached to the beams. There are several options for feet assemblies that include remote rotation and length of stroke.
