1 Introduction
1.1 Foreword
This User Manual describes the Mecface Control System. It contains information concerning the architectureof the control systems as well as the settings required to obtain the desired behavior of the Unit. TheMecface Control System will effectively manage all the different functions of air conditioning units. In the following sections first the Hardware, and later the Software (Firmware) are explained in detail.

2.1.2.1 How to connect the Mecfaces
Several units can be connected together via bus. The units can exchange data, and so different features canbe activated, like:
Teamwork (The group of units behaves like 1 big unit)
Standby + Rotation + Cascade
One common MECmatic V1.40
and some more, described in the Software Part of this Manual.
Note: The maximum number of units to be connected is 16.
Please note that a wrong connection could cause serious problems to the electronic devices(Mecface and Mecmatic V1.40); for this reason we strong ly recommend you to use only f irstquality products or to buy the cables directly from your sales reps.. Before connecting thecables to the Mecface a check w ith Cable-Tester (see Spare Parts L ist , Chapter 2.9) has to be
performed.

LOW AIRFLOW ATA threshold value for the voltage generated by the airflow sensor connected to Mecface. When the voltage is lower thanthis threshold a warning is generated. Depending on the value assigned to * Fan Failure the unit will disable onlyhumidification and heaters (warning) or will completely stop its operations (alarm). Select "SWI" if in the unit a differentialpressure switch is installed in place of PTC airflow sensor.
LOW PRESSURE ALARM DELAYThe time delay (in minutes) after a start of the compressor(s) in which the occurrence of a low pressure alarm is ignored. After this time the low pressure alarm is delayed of approximately 10 seconds.
NUMBER OF CONNECTED UNITSIn this specific Software the Number of connected Units is fixed to 2.
NUMBER OF STANDBY UNITSThe number of units in the network that operate in Standby mode.
PASSWORDMecface has three different access levels (LEVEL 1, LEVEL 2, LEVEL 4). Each level permits the access to a different setof parameters. To reach each level it is necessary to introduce the corresponding password. The passwords are asfollows: LEVEL1 to configure the system for regulation 149 LEVEL2 to completely configure the system 501 LEVEL4 to calibrate sensors and transducers ask to your local dealer for the password
PERFORM ONE ROTATIONWhen set to YES the system is forced to perform one rotation of the standby units.
QUICK ENCREASE SPEEDIf the control senses a very quick increase of temperature, the standby unit will be started in a few seconds (max. 5), andalso ALL (available) compressors will be started in a sequence of a few seconds (steps of 2 seconds). This mode will lastuntil the heater is requested for a time of 2 minutes (the heater is disabled during this mode). The speed setting refers toan temperature increase within 10 seconds: a setting of 0,7 means, that this mode will be started if the temperature isabove the setpoint AND increases by 0,7 K within 10 seconds.
RETURN AIR HUMIDITYThe humidity of the air entering the air conditioning unit. Depending on how the unit is configured (devices and sensorsinstalled), this humidity is measured by a Humitemp installed inside the unit in the return air flow path or, if Humitemp isnot installed, is not measured.. For sensor installation please refer to the electrical diagrams of the unit. This humidity isused by Mecface, together with *Room Humidity Setpoint and *Humidity Proportional Band to decide thehumidification/dehumidification status of the unit.
RETURN AIR TEMPERATUREThe temperature of the air entering the air conditioning unit. Depending on how the unit is configured (devices andsensors installed), this temperature is measured by a Humitemp or by a PTC sensor installed inside the unit in the returnair flow path. For sensor installation please refer to the electrical diagrams of the unit. This temperature is used byMecface, together with *Room Temperature Setpointand *Temp. Proportional Bandto decide the cooling status of theunit.
ROOM HUMIDITY SETPOINTThe humidity of the air desired in the room. It is the reference value used by Mecface, together with *Return Air Humidityand *Humidity Proportional Bandto decide the humidification or dehumidification status of the unit.
ROOM TEMPERATURE SETPOINTThe temperature of the air desired in the room. It is the reference value used by Mecface, together with * Return AirTemperature and *Temp. Proportional Bandto decide the cooling or heating status of the air conditioning unit.
ROTATION FREQUENCY
Defines the frequency at which the automatic rotation of standby units will be performed. Without Mecmatic V1.40,rotation is available only every 24 hours. If rotation is enabled and Mecmatic V1.40 is not connected, each time thatPower ON is performed on the unit N. 1, the rotation is performed.
