HVAC Early Retirement FOR OVER 100 YEARS...LIFE. POWERED BY EDISON. HVAC Early Retirement Cash in Your Clunky Rooftop HVAC Units For a limited time, you can replace your old — but still operational — HVAC units with new, high-efficiency equipment at a reduced cost. Southern California Edison is working with local HVAC contractors to help them offer you new equipment at a reduced price, which can help reduce the amount of time needed for your investment to pay for itself. Think of it as “Cash for HVAC Clunkers.” As HVAC units grow older, they degrade and operate less efficiently. Older units are more likely to break down and require extensive maintenance. You can keep units running with maintenance and repairs, but replacing them with new, quieter, properly-sized, high-efficiency systems can save you a lot of money on your energy bill and reduce cooling energy usage by approximately 30 percent. 1 HVAC Early Retirement Process Here’s how Early Retirement works: 1. Identify Opportunities: Work with your HVAC Optimization program-enrolled contractor to identify opportunities for HVAC unit replacement. 2. Contractor Submits the Initial Application: This is followed by a fourteen-day waiting period, which allows time for application review and on-site pre-inspections. 3. Contractor Installs New Equipment: The new equipment must meet certain efficiency standards to receive a rebate. Your contractor will help you identify qualifying equipment. 4. (Optional) Enroll the New Unit in HVAC Optimization: You can increase your energy savings and ensure quality maintenance over a longer period of time by enrolling the new unit (or other qualifying HVAC units at your facility) in SCE’s HVAC Optimization program. If you’re interested, your contractor can give you more information and help you get started. 5. Contractor Receives Incentive Payment: Your contractor receives incentive payment directly and you receive a new, high-efficiency HVAC unit without having to apply for a rebate. Cash in Your Clunky Rooftop HVAC Units

For a limited time, you can replace your old — but still operational — HVAC units with new, high-efficiency equipment at a reduced cost. Think of it as “Cashfor HVAC Clunkers.”

As HVAC units grow older, they degrade and operate less efficiently. Older units are more likely to break down and require extensive maintenance. You can keep units running with maintenance and repairs, but replacing them with new, quieter, properly-sized, high-efficiency systems can save you a lot of money on your energy bill and reduce cooling energy usage by approximately 30 percent.1
