Meeting Open John Gippel – Introduction. Invited to address the meeting Head Teacher Business Studies, Commerce Presentation o Australian Business Week for students in Year 10. After exams in November. o Not for profit organisation o Leadership program aimed at Yr 10 & 11 o Developed software based on student groups of 10 students each. o Student groups develop a business in each group and make decisions regarding their business. o Compete in a business simulation for 2 years operation. o Allocate roles in Finance, Marketing, Business & Operations o Develop product o Trade displays o Oral presentations o Students receive a manual on a type of business model o Costs $55/student – goes to ABW

1. Meeting Open

John Gippel – Introduction. Invited to address the meeting Head Teacher Business Studies, Commerce Presentation

o Australian Business Week for students in Year 10. After exams in November.

o Not for profit organisationo Leadership program aimed at Yr 10 & 11o Developed software based on student groups of 10 students each.o Student groups develop a business in each group and make decisions

o 2011 first pilot. ABW program was very successfulo 2012 it is to be enhanced.o Encourage more involvement from wider business community,

Yes – encourage further involvement from as many people as possible.

o 19th Nov – 23rd Novo Formed a student steering communityo Make presentations to business community to encourage their

sponsorship & support.o Set up a business lunch. Special guests address the students in table

settings at a luncheon.o Prizes in the final 2 hours of ABWo Seek sponsorship with vouchers as prizes at the conclusion.o Phil – Does Aust. Business Week have a budget?o $150 of photocopying – current costso Dominic – great initiativeo Action Item–

If parents can offer support with advice/presentations in the ABW.

o John -> Phil – Aus Business Week to go on Website & Newsletter Stall at Country Fair Steering Committee Meeting

o Motion Item – 10 students to win the Simulation Award to the value $200 P&C to donate award. SECOND - Dominic

o Phil – President to reply – acknowledge and direct Head Teacher of English/to the Principal

o Phil – draft response and send to Rebecca Chan to then forward to Kerrie. After checking forward to incoming addressee.

7. Uniform Shop Report

Uniform shop now has internet access Sandra - $29/3months, 6G Vodafone internet dongle, claimed out of petty cash. Trialling phoning in credit card details for students to pick up Limit on transactions to $200 Order form on the internet Trial over the phone and Uniform shop filling in form. Action Item –
