Iccha Shakthi: creates KDB, ADB, library of PIP, our world, habits, behavior,
and circumstances (or destiny)
Chittha (Memory) saves Samskaras (well-done scholarship & doership)
Body, Mind, Intellect, and Memory influence brain electrically
Kriya, Jnaana, and IchCHa shakthi creates the ‘Master’ or ‘Director for every

Samskara
Samskara = Samyak karothi = well done potential electrical energy 1
Dictates behavior, habit, circumstances, & micro-destiny (this life)
Accountability rests with the individual
Apparent leverage of endowed “Free Will” or IchCHa Shakthi (thought)
Confuses or conflicts with concepts such as Free Will & Destiny 2,3
1 Mental process of information and intelligence from across the human being’s constitution (B,M,I,Memory, & Ego levels); includes KDB and ADB
2 Destiny is supposed to be pre-ordained (by God or higher divine principle)
3 Destiny is also conceptualized according to Theory of Karma (Reincarnation)

HUMAN BEING: Natural happening (dynamic) energy system bombarded by
incessant stimulus (also a happening)
Mr. Free
Will Manu Mr. Destiny
Sanathana Dharma
Vasana (a.k.a Pre-ordained Destiny)
Prakrthi: Phenomenon or ‘happening’ of cosmic energy 1 (SaguNa Brahman)
TriguNa are tendencies of Prakrthi responsible for ‘happening’ 1,2
Unmanifest proclivities or tendencies (Cosmic and human being levels)3
Inherited from previous birth as combination of Paapa and Punya Sesha4
Latent impressions or instructions (to be executed or manifest)
1 Due to instability of the cosmic energy system; BG Ch XIV Verse 2, Ch VII Verse 4 & 13
2 BG Ch III Verse 5 & 27, Ch XIV 3 & 4
3 BG Ch XIV Verse 5

Vasana (Continued)
A person inherits Vasana (from previous birth) + Samskara (from parents)
This could be considered as Vasana of current birth (BIOS)
Inherited proclivities create and add new samskara in current life
End of life, the Vasana and samskara become Vasana for next life
According to principle of Causation (Cause – Effect or Phala* phenomenon)
Could be termed as ‘Soul Memory’ or Spiritual Memory
* Phala (DhrishTa and AdhrishTa) is yearned or intended and earned as samskara

Vedhantha & Wellness – 101 Vaasu Dheva Namaskaara
Summary Meaning
Vaasu dheva (existence as divinity, spirit, energy) is
embodiment of vasanas. Salutation and praise to all elements
(material cause) that are born and sustain (making up the
world), that reside, and have three attributes 1 of existence.
1. Three guNas: Sattwa, Rajas, Thamas; waking, dreaming, deep sleep states
13 Sandhyopasana – kp – Session 18 Oct 26, 2013
Vasana (Continued) Bhagavad Gita CH III Verse 5
Na hi kashchith kshaNamapi jaathu thishTTHath akarmakrth
Kaaryathe he avashaH karma sarvaH prakrthijaiHi gunaiHi
No one can remain action less even for a moment
Helplessly everyone is made to act due to guNas of prakrthi
The guNas of prakrthi (Macro Vasana) make every human being (the
bundle of micro vasana) to act naturally (As part of the Grand Happening
due to instability of cosmic energy)

Vasana (Continued) Bhagavad Gita CH III Verse 27
Prakrthe kriya maaNaani guNaiHi karmaaNi sarvashaH
Ahankara vimooDHathma karthaahamithi manyathe
Of nature are all actions performed due to guNas in all cases
Due to Ahamkaara (ego) the ignorant1 thinks ‘I am the doer’
Due to Ahamkaara (process of egoism as enjoyer) the person arrogates2 every action as ‘I am the doer’ even though all actions exude due to the guNas of nature (Grand Happening)
1 Ignorance is the veiling power or Avidya; 2 Arrogate = to claim or appropriate without justification

Key Features Of The Energy Principle
‘Happening’ – Unstable (not in equilibrium)
Always in a state of flux
Inferred only after manifestation 1
Also known as Avidhya 2
Visualized as modes of energy
Three modes of instability
Each mode is called a GuNa 3
1. BG Ch XIV Verse 4 - Birth of beings
2. Avidhya is defined as non-clarity or not known as knowledge by Intellect
3. BG Ch XIV Verse 5 – Birth of GuNa

9
Vedhantha Wellness - 101 GuNa
‘Climatic Condition’ of instability of Prakrthi
Tendency or proclivity before manifestation
Classification (nomenclature) only after manifestation
Nature of manifestation indicates the intrinsic guNa
All three guNas exist in any manifestation
A guna could be predominant at the moment of observation
17 The Two Aatma Model – kp – Session 3 Jul 14, 2012
Vedhantha Wellness - 101 GuNa (continued)
Three GuNas Sattwa
Rajas
Tamas
Identification of GuNa in Pancha Maha Bhutha
Sattwa = AkaashaH (Space)
Rajas = TejaH (Fire) and VaayuHu (Wind)
Tamas = Prthvi (Earth) and AapaH (Water)
Jeevaathma effects as Jeeva
(No guNa before manifestation is NirguNa Jeevaathma)

Individual (Knower) 1
‘ISNESS’ (BEING)’
‘BECOMES’
Bhokthru, Jnaathru, or Karthru
1. Are we not identifying ‘I’ as the knower instead of as the BEING of ‘Knowingness’? 2. Recall or remember Experience ‘Happens’ for the BEING to BECOME
11/26/2013
14
Vedhantha Wellness – 101 What is Ego (continued)
The BECOMING ‘I’ is a ‘Knower’
This ‘Becoming’ or modification happens over an ‘unmodified substratum’
The ‘Becoming’ is ‘Known’ under the ‘illumination’ of ‘unmodified substratum’
The ‘Becoming’ is ‘Known’ through a ‘KNOWINGNESS’ (the unmodified pure
substratum or consciousness)
‘Isness’ has an intrinsic ‘knowingness’ (not separate attributes)
The ‘knower who knows is only a ‘NAME and a FORM’ (Label) – a THOUGHT
Thus, I = EGO is only a THOUGHT

Human Being
Relationship Human Environment
Vedhantha Wellness – 101 Ego or Personality
Process of arrogation – claiming, appropriation or justification without right
Scholarship – I am a KNOWER (Jnaathru)
Doership – I am a DOER – (Karthru)
Enjoyership – I am the ENJOYER or EXPERIENCER (Bhokthru)
Modified ‘I am’ and not ‘BEING I am’
Divorced or disconnected from ‘I am’ (the BEING)
Personality – a micro form disconnected from macro physically, functionally, &
spiritually (energy)

Samskara – a.k.a Samsara, a thought pattern, Ego (Isolated and Identified)
Perennially wanting, comparing, competing, never satisfied – BECOMING
Wanting support from higher power – God, God men/women, Swamis, etc.
In fear, suffering, sorrowful, indulging in incessant behavior

Jeeva or Person = Isolated, Identified, BECOMER in disconnected
form with a name
Stays (or positions) misunderstood as (or with) LIFE
Modified consciousness or Chittha Vritthi (Thoughts)1
Jeevana: Continuous process of personality building or LIVING
1 In waking and dreaming states of life
2 In deep sleep state there is no Chittha Vritthi or Jeeva (concept, idea, thought) or Jeevana

Vedhantha Wellness – 101
Migrate From BECOMING to BEING
Minimize BECOMING Process
Try to simply BE (or reduce complexity, be simple)
Reduce or eliminate samskara creation, Chittha Vritthi (thoughts)1
or modified consciousness (especially, incessant behavior)
Identify with pure consciousness as in deep sleep
The ‘BEING’ attitude is Beatitude, Joy (Bliss), Pure Consciousness,
or Jeevathma
1 In waking and dreaming states of life, in deep sleep state there is no Chittha Vritthi (concept, idea, thought) or Jeevana
