Payment Authorized
1. That the Board of Directors of the School District of Pittsburgh authorize its
proper officers to approve payment up-to seven (7) teachers, paraprofessionals,
social workers, counselors, and/or other staff at Pittsburgh Milliones 6-12 after-
school program two (2) hours per day at the prevailing workshop rate of

$23.32/hr, for Teachers/Counselors & Social Worker and the rate of $12.00/hr.
for Paraprofessional during the period of November 9, 2021, through June 30,
2022. Responsibilities will vary based grade level, location, and overall school
management. Staff will prepare and operate a Writing Lab, engagement
activities, supervise specific learning stations, and positively interact with
students, parents, and community members during our after school program.
Total payment shall not exceed $56,000 payable from account line 4309-638-
1450-124 (Teachers) and 4309-638-1450-126 (Social Workers and Counselors).
2. That the Board of Directors of the School District of Pittsburgh authorize its
proper officers to approve payment to paraprofessionals paid through the
Program for Students with Exceptionalities (EAIII – Levels A& B; Classroom
Assistants, Assistant Teachers and Aides for Students with Disabilities) who
attend approved professional development workshops per Article 43 of the
paraprofessional collective bargaining agreement. Each paraprofessional is
eligible for up to fifteen (15) hours at the workshop rate of $12.00 per hour upon
completion. Total payment shall not exceed $69,495.66 from account line 002-
5290-1JY-1290-197-891-00-000-0000.
3. That the Board of Directors of the School District of Pittsburgh authorize its
proper officers to approve payment of up to twenty-five (25) Pittsburgh Langley
K-8 teachers to attend up to nine (9) literacy professional learning sessions and
four (4) Pittsburgh Langley K-9 teachers to lead these sessions. Each session will
be one (1) hour in length and will include but not be limited to the following
literacy topics: strategies for decoding and blending, word building,
comprehending grade-level text, and close reading. These sessions will take place
either before or after school on the following dates:

Teachers will be paid at the workshop rate of $23.32 per hour. Please note that this
opportunity of professional learning, will take place over Microsoft Teams. The total
payment shall not exceed $4,208.00 payable from account line 140-4140-1HQ-2271-
124-900-00-000-000. These funds are contingent upon Pennsylvania Department of
Education approval of Comprehensive School Improvement funds.
4. That the Board of Directors of the School District of Pittsburgh authorize its proper
officers to Brookline PreK-8 to offer an after school tutoring program for students
in Literacy and Mathematics in Grades 1-3. The program will be held on Mondays
and Thursdays after school beginning December 2nd, 2021 from 3:00-4:00 P.M. The
rate of pay will be the approved hourly workshop rate for each employee. The total
payment shall not exceed $10,000 for six (6) teacher’s payable from account line
140-4140-1HQ-2271-124-900-00-000-000
5. That the Board of Directors of the School District of Pittsburgh authorize its proper
officers to approve payment to (amend) item 5.09 approved by the Board at the
April 28, 2021 Legislative Meeting, Committee on Education. Reason for
Amendment: The purpose of this amendment is to provide the names of the district
employees authorized to receive payment for staff training held August 12, 2021 –
August 13, 2021 as indicated in the PAsmart Advancing Computer Science & STEM
Education Grant. Below are the list of names and payment amounts. Total payment
shall not exceed $5,993.86 from account line 001-4000-1GZ-1490-124-100-00-000-

6. That the Board of Directors of the School District of Pittsburgh authorize its proper
officers to approve payment to Student Voice (SV) Liaisons. SV Liaisons are school-
based staff members who collaborate with school staff, students, and family
members to provide a network of support for elevating student voice opportunities
within their school. There is one (1) SV Liaison per school to support the student
voice work under the Office of the Superintendent. This role will ensure that student

voice has a presence and is supported at the school level. SV Coordinators are
compensated $500 for the school year which includes trainings and meetings that
are held outside their regular job duties. Total payment shall not exceed $7,000

T. Resolutions
1. Whereas, the District’s Administration has provided the Board of School Directors
with sufficient evidence to justify the issuance of a statement of charges and notice of
dismissal against District employee, Employee ID 000017733. NOW, therefore, be it
resolved that the statement of charges and notice of dismissal against Employee ID
000017733 is hereby approved. Employee ID 000017733 is suspended without pay,
effective immediately, subject to her right to reinstatement if she timely requests a
Board hearing and is not dismissed. If Employee ID 000017733’s proposed dismissal
is challenged through the collective bargaining agreement’s grievance arbitration
procedure, any reinstatement by an arbitrator shall be made effective in accordance
with the arbitration award without further Board action.
