gazebo and playground. There’s an all weather boat ramp with tidal access for fishing.

Boonooroo and its neighbour Tuan are typical sleepy little fishing hamlets. Boonooroo has a bowls club, golf course, tennis court, and bike and boat hire. This is a wallum swamp area, home to a unique collection of Australian flora and fauna including tea trees, kangaroos, eucalypts, galahs, bottle brush and sea eagles. It is also the second largest protection area in Queensland for the dugong.

POONAPoona is located 35km from Maryborough and is popular with holidaymakers who enjoy peaceful surroundings, plenty of space and good fishing from boats or the beach. Poona offers a great place for children to play and swim safely, with dolphins playing just off the beach. When the tide goes out, explore thetidal pools, pump for yabbies on the beach or chase soldier crabs.

TINNANBARTinnanbar’s white sandy beach and clear turquoise water make it one of the best along the Queensland coast, attracting sea turtles and dugongs. It is suitable for swimming and sailing at all tides. There are a number of nearby creeks and good access to offshore fishing grounds. There is a short cut to Tinnanbar through Bauple using the forestry roads.

TIN CAN BAY AND RAINBOW BEACHReturn to the Cooloola Coast Road and follow the Tin Can Bay signs. You will pass the Camp Kerr Military Training Area before arriving in Tin Can Bay where you can enjoy many nature-based activities including hand feeding the dolphins, boating, fishing, water activities and environmental walks.

Continue from Tin Can Bay to Rainbow Beach for rolling surf beaches, coloured sands, hang gliding and fun four-wheel drive experiences. Visit Inskip Point where there is barge access to Fraser Island. Enjoy local attractions suchas the Carlo Sand Blow and Double Island PointLighthouse(4WDaccessonly).
