The average salary for finance majors rose 3.9percent to $48,300. Most of their reported salaries arefrom employers in the banking industry, where theiraverage salary sits at $43,830. Finance majors foundtheir highest average starting salary—$68,770—with securities, commodities, funds, trusts, and otherfinancial investment firms.

The average salary reported for marketing majors is up 4.1 percent to $51,200. Retail trade andmanufacturing employers supplied the greatestnumber of opportunities, but provided distinctlydifferent salaries. On average, marketing majorslanding in the retail trade industry averaged $35,680,while those who got jobs with manufacturers averaged$45,550. Those lucky enough to land with computersystems design companies pulled in the highestaverage salary in this major—$57,300.
