• Euthanasia rates for wildlife decreased over 12% from
2016
• 59% increase in the number animals that went to
rehabilitators from 2016

• Playgroups saw the biggest growth/increase in
volunteer participation.
• 421 Runner Hours in 2017
• 447 Handler Hours in 2017
• 11 volunteers have completed Handler training
• Created behavior plans for dogs and cats
going to foster
• Angela Schmorrow with Harmony Dog Training
joined HSHV to implement behavior plans for
dogs and do in-home consults for foster
parents taking our more challenging dogs
• Working closely with Shelter Vet Team to
identify those animals needing behavior
modification medications to help them through
their shelter stay and beyond

OUR OUTPATIENT VETERINARY CLINIC!
Clinic Team
In 2017 The Clinic performed 7118 outpatient exams-1443 of them were first visits from our shelter animals returning to us!
We administered 2143 vaccines to dogs and cats at our LCVCs

This is how we feel about our volunteers!
• We adopted out 4846 cats and dogs
• We also adopted 215 small domestic animals as
well as a few farm animals too.
• 2017 adoption total: 5061. This is the highest
amount that HSHV has ever adopted out!
• For dogs and cats, this is a 17.4 increase from last
year!

In 2017 the Pajama Party promotion continued to
be a huge success with 145 dogs leaving on a
pajama party’s and 119 of them turning into
adoptions
